I'm finally ready to finish up an era on the GC and move onto the Wii. I'm finishing up the Resident Evil series along with Killer 7. What other games should I check out before I devote more time to my Wii? I've already played a lot of the other greats, like the Metroid Primes, Zelda, and Viewtiful Joe. I need other games that are worth playing, in your opinions. I've got Tales of Symphonia marked as another game I should try, but I dunno. Thanks.

Super Smash Bros. Melee
Super Mario Sunshine
Pikmin 1 & 2
Wave Race: Blue Storm
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
Star Fox Adventures

F-Zero GX? What an odd choice. You want this guy to break his controllers or what?

Did you try Chibi Robo? It's pretty fun. Mario Strikers is fun, too, but who cares, a sequel is planned on Wii.

If you haven't played it to death, Monkey Ball is fun, too. I recommend both as they have different mini-games, so it really depends on whether you have friends that like video games or not.

Hmmm... I dunno, Resident Evil 1 for the Gamecube is pretty sweet. I've always liked the Sonic Adventure series do to the challenge.

Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean along with its recently released prequel, Baten Kaitos Origins. Great RPGs. I loved the first and I'm still playing the 2nd one. Fun combat system and good storyline.

May not be pretty but has excellent unique gameplay -- Cubivore (1st party game they wouldn't release and Atlus did.) Also some hate, some love... Starfox Adventures. If you like 'zelda' like platformers and are not a starfox snob that just has to have it arwings or nothing it has a nice story and good gameplay.

The game I personally liked best for the gamecube is Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, it's a tad short, but I enjoyed every moment of it.
And for multiplayer games, Super Smash Brothers: Melee and Mario Karts are also always fun ofcourse...

Here are two games I enjoyed that nobody really takes about.

True Crime: Streets of L.A. was a lot of fun if you like GTA type games.

Dead to Rights - Linear game and not too long, but very challenging on hardest mode was a lot of fun for me at least.

I just bought F-Zero GX for my Wii yesterday

It's awesome. Supports both Progressive scan and 16:9. Looks better than most Wii games and it was made in 2003

So far it's an amazing game, incredibly difficult but amazing.

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

@BigOnYa, i only have like 1 or 2 mb sec

Did you feed the hamster in your internet router? It prob died and is running slow now.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

Its actua!ly just a old joke, meaning its slow. Was just kidding around with you.

I bet @AncientBoi has some hamsters hidden somewhere tho....

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

    Some temporary storage

also @BigOnYa im making some progress on my gdevelop project, implemented various mechanics

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

@BigOnYa, although the bullets are a bit buggy

Not to mention this would be a massive pain to pirate

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

im taking a break for today anyway

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
