What firmware do most new Wii's in stores have?

My nephew wants one for his birthday, and wants it to play homebrew (emulators, etc). Don't want to buy one if it cant be hacked.

By now every Wii should come with 4.3. Maybe 4.2 if you are really lucky.

Yep. It is still hackable.

I bought my black wii a couple days ago. It had v4.2U.

Doesn't matter though since v4.3 is hackable.
