I hate how I can't arm wrestle, thus being called a weakling
Just a suggestion- arm wrestling has very little to do with strength assuming you have a basic level of it and it is then mostly all about technique (your arms set up in arm wrestling positions are in effect very simple machines and as such there are methods of breaking the system) until you get to higher levels of it.
As for the matter at hand the only thing that concerns me at this point is a variation on what Psyfira has- I care very little about what I can do/actually end up doing and consider most of it trivial and boring as I am otherwise always breaking new ground for me in the areas I usually find myself playing in (information and research equipment being readily available and all) a side effect of which is it all serves to demonstrate how much more there is to know (I know specialisation is inevitable too when you get to having some more exotic skills but it never seems to sink in). It makes being self employed a bit difficult if I can never be bothered to charge anyone (to avoid making my taxes complex (in my usual fields you can hit VAT limits within two weeks if you pushed it- I also hate selling things to people but that is something else entirely) most of what I do is labour only or labour and a few expendables) for something at that point I consider trivial or can do quickly (or in the case of computer fixing leave running on my second desk and lean over every few minutes to make sure it is ticking over). That part of what I do involves reverse engineering or fixing things at various levels also troubles things- if a given time/expense limit is in place a "finished result" is not always possible and interesting as my results might be a return on investment is usually what is desired.
Such a thing is compounded when it meets the secondary issue of my being unwilling to have someone effectively pay to have me learn something or suffer the time wasted for having me fumble with something I have only basic skills in or worse (for me at least) certify in something (most certification courses for things I would care about would mean I get bored silly for a week sitting in a hotel halfway across the country being told about health and safety in near identical ways for every single piece of paper for what ultimately amounts to "read the manual, if something goes wrong then shut off power/feed, call ambulance with a brief on the situation and maybe some form of hazmat team").
To make matters even worse I know and agree with most of the models such a thing is based on (even if it is "easy" having to pull someone from the floor can be more expensive in other ways, R and D always runs the risk of not achieving what it was set out to accomplish, money is occasionally a useful thing to have, my time- probably not worthless/periods of it can be exchanged to allow me to continue fiddling with things I wish to fiddle with and/or have fancy toys, attempting repairs always runs the risk of not achieving the best result and most people know this, a bigger funds pool is quite nice to have, taxes are silly complex and the writers of such things are in need of a headbutt but they are there to try and help things- I have no expenses or investments on the books for instance, what is easy to me may well represent thousands of hours of training in various arenas/a combination of somewhat rare skills, if my lazy self can not be bothered to charge anyone/charge people properly/dismisses or outright dodges attempts to be paid or pursue new methods of generating income/act on ideas for it/act on requests to expand operations I am likely to be sitting here in twenty years time (a personal nightmare) and that most people do expect to have the salesmen selling something make a profit via some means if not directly).
I guess short version- FAST6191 is very much not cut out to be a businessman or accountant despite reluctantly now having to play such roles and is keenly aware of the silliness of it all/such a mindset and knowingly being in such a position as to make it a good idea to use at least the basic skills of such trades (which I already know). To answer the question of why not find a business manager and/or accountant the answer is then I would be obligated if not financially (these people like regular payments) then morally or even legally (corporation laws often amount to "profits- pursue them above all else unless mentioned in your articles of incorporation but keep it sensible and reasonably legal or your investor types will swing a law bat at you") to be doing things quite a lot (my expenses patterns and the manage your own time bit being self employed works very well for me).
On the other hand I am getting by quite happily without too much effort when many others are struggling night and day to even slow their decline long enough to stand a chance of reversing it so why bother changing things.
