DLDI: Dynamically Linked Device Interface

From my knowledge, it's a patch that helps homebrew run better :|
So no, it's not a gamecreation tool..

Here's the history of DLDI.

Back when the R4DS first came to be, along with other existing flashcarts, all homebrew that used file access, things like saving and loading data, needed to be patched with DLDI.
Each individual cart had its own DLDI in place.

Eventually the R4DS implemented a feature called auto DLDI, meaning patching was no longer necessary for file access on homebrew.

Auto-DLDI has been a stable feature of all flashcarts ever since, it is extremely rare that you'll need to DLDI patch anything now.

DLDI is a common interface most homebrew implements, and when you DLDI patch a homebrew file, it allows that homebrew file to talk to a particular card. Patch it with another patch, and it can then talk to another card.

Beats making individial builds of homebrew for each flashcart.

Most homebrew loaders (excluding the Action Replay DSi) will automatically patch DLDI, so you shouldn't have to worry about it.
