ROM Hack WarioWare D.I.Y unlocking .mio games

Hi Im Cooleo and I have thought that is threre a way to unlock .mio games so they can be edited on crygortool or mioedit?



i need this help plz!

I haven't used it before, but I'm pretty sure you can't for obvious reasons. (Unless you're good with a hex editor.)

well i think its possible but theres just not a program an on the mio sharing thread one of them said they unlocked the games >

I think I recall reading its just one byte somewhere in the file, probably in the header I'd guess. Try looking at some locked and unlocked ones in a hex editor and see if you can find a byte thats probably 01 in all locked games and 00 in all unlocked ones.

But I thought cygortool was going to work with locked games?

EDIT: Realized he changed his mind. But yeah, its one byte, probably not THAT hard to find if you have an idea what you're doing. But if you do find out, don't be a jerk. Don't release other people's stuff they've locked as your own, and don't post detailed info on doing it.

BTW, you'd also need to edit the CRC checksum. Both tasks should be pretty simple if you have an idea what you're doing, but I'm not going to help, because I don't think you should edit other people's work if they don't want you to.
