First, how bad is the slowdown is this game? I keep hearing mixed things. How was it for you, if you've played it?
Second, would running the game from a memory stick possibly reduce the slowdown?
I ask because I want to play this game but if the slowdown is that bad i might just wait for the iOS version.

Yup.

Dean you played the original PSX FFT?

Yes there is slowdown, and whilst you can eliminate some of the UMD induced slowing, even running from an ISO on your MS can't eliminate the lag that results from the dodgy conversion (so the PSX Classic FFT runs better for summons than WotL for instance). However, it's not much of an issue and WotL is definitely the better version....

I remember playing it for a long time on my PSP, and the lags weren't that horrible. It might irritate you at first, but you'll get used to it x3 I've seen much worse, like Mana Khemia, although it's not exactly the same problem.

There you go - If you've never played the PSX version it's unlikely you'll be that bothered...

Try for yourself and see. If you're running it from a memory card, it's not like you're losing anything but time. : P'

The game as a low framerate cap when casting spells, using items and such. Nothing you can do about it except find a hacker to try and remove the framerate cap.

Just tried it and it is seriously fucking bad. I have no idea how anyone could stand to play that game.
