hey guys! im trying to get the loader to work. i installed the cios wad, dvdx, and patched the rom. im on ntsc component cable, tried bruning on verbatim dvd-r, and verbatim dvd+r (changed the bootype to DVD ROM, or whatever it was exactly) when i burn the disk and burn it, and load the loader in the homebrew channel, it fades to black, then does nothing. i burned a game that was confirmed working on the wiki.

any ideas on what to do?

Are you using the exact same setup as the Wiki user?

Same console region, same disc region, same video output?

I've noticed alot of the Wiki's and compatability thread have a TON of PAL in them... alot of us use NTSC...

just make sure it's all set properly!

You also didn't mention how long you leave it on the black screen. I've come across a few games that sat at a black screen for 5 minutes or more while loading.

[If it didn't work what errors did you get:] Green Screen even when patched with WiiFri.

[Game name:] de Blob

[What type of discs did you use?:] Ritek RiData 8x DVD+RW, Burnt at 8x
[If you know what type of cd burner you have then please put it here:] Samsung SH-203N

Well the fact of the matter is, nobody is really "testing" rather they are desperately trying to get their pirated games to work right. (Not that I'm judging.)

We already know that the issue involves the bootloader being a pal app, which causes issues with ntsc systems. No further testing is necessary until/if wanikoko
decides to start work on it again.

Well... How about the fact, that loader appears to force 480i mode even if the console setting is set to 576i? You will notice it only if you have a TV that does not support 480i mode.

So, I think that issue is not with PAL output, but rather that videomode is forced with the hardcoded value (say, 480i), when it should be taken from the console settings.

BTW, may be it is possible to disassemble cIOS (or just patch it with vmc?... crazy idea
blink.gif
) to force not PAL 480i but some other mode?..

yeah im using the right version of everything as far as i can tell, and i tried letting the loader load for a few minutes. nothing. is there some way to see if i installed everything correctly? i:
installed wad cios
installed dvdx, option 249
got iso
patched, burned it
loaded with launcher

I have Done this tut about a thousand times it has never worked i keep getting -4100

im using samsung pleomax DVD+RW's

IMG BURN

I done the dvd rom thing on the burner
]i have no ideo why it doesnt work im in pal

Everything worked really well for me. Used TDK DVD-R - 4x SPEED Burn with IMG burn, need help ask.

do I need to downgrade before it will work, I am on 3.3. I am trying force unleashed pal on a US 3.3, no mod chip.

The install gets the title right and then there is a green flash and the wii locks on a black screen.

I am using HP dvd-r with lightscribe and burning tried burning at 3x, 4x, and 8x with imgburn.

Any ideas?

Did u install CIOS REV 5 ?

Also I found this on the first page :
" Question:
does it matter if i have never install a Cios before and does it matter what version of firmware on my wii i have ... sorry for being a pain just want to make sure i have all the files . i all ready have dvdx installed so will run that again and uninstall then go from there
Answer:
No, install it now and it should work fine.
Firmware 3.2 and 3.3 seem to work, I don't believe anyone has tried any below that yet. DVDX needs to have the special 249 install."

I install the one that came in the loader and the dvdx too
using wad manager, have u installed CIOS36_REV5-64-v1042.wad ?

have u patched your ISO successfully using the backup-creator and common key?

podunk1269 said:
yup, done both
How about this trick : "NOTE: Make sure to patch to PAL with regionfrii. Thats the only way to make it work, else green screen. 30 sec load time. "
EDIT: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=106044&st=0
"I finally got it runnig by simply using waninkoko's WiiFrii 2.3b for region patching before using the backup-creator"

Do you post it / update on the wiki too ? ( just wondering, because in the end everyone will have the information all around the place )

Well, I did post in the wiki sometimes, but they keep on updating it with my info sooner or later.
Maybe I'll do it later, but I don't really have the time right now.
