Just tried Soul Calibur but the backup creator turned a 4.37gb ISO into a 8.36gb ISO. So I won't be testing that one since I can't get that much info on a dual layer even with overburn activated. It says that there isn't room once it adds the leadout. Even if I turn on the short lead out it still won't fit.

Why would it have made the ISO bigger? There other two games that I tried were actually smaller by about 40mb.

UPDATED EDIT
Ok, ignore this. I copied the file to a new folder and now windows is telling me that it is only 3.99gb. That was weird...all I had to do was move it to a new folder and then burn it. Must have been some weird XP glitch. The backup creator said completed and to press any key, but maybe it still had a hold on it or something....I don't know. As soon as it's burned, I'll let you know if it worked or not.

Alright new issue here

Trying to make "Guitar Hero 3 Custom - Rockin the 80s" work. It's supposed to be a PAL version however plays like a copy protected disc for me.

Dumped the ISO into WiiFree and used
1. "PAL -> NTSC-U"
2. "Smart Patcher"
3. Do Not Change (language)

And then when I try and use that new ISO in the "Backup Creator" i get:

[*] ERROR: Could not get partition title key!
[*] Press any key to exit...

Any ideas?

Are you dragging and dropping the ISO onto backup-creator.exe or right clicking opening with?

THIS MAY BE IMPORTANT FOR SOME PEOPLE::
Just now I burned a copy of Mario Kart(PAL) to run on my wii(NTSC). In order to bypass the color issues, I used this:
image01.jpg

It is a RCA>USB adapter. (costs about 30 dollars)
I then used a program called VLC to view the PAL output of the adapter and sure enough, we have color!!
I may do a video soon, but here is a screenshot of it running on my desktop.
It automatically adjusts to the video output that the wii is giving too!

Metroid Prime 3 PAL on my PAL Wii takes a long while to load, but gets there. Intro music plays smoothly, video appears to be a bit choppy. Menus also appear slow. Long time load levels, but they play well.

Burnt on ridisc 8x using Cyberlink Power2go

Am I sure that my wii is NTSC? Definitely. My TV is also NTSC 480i. I don't have any PAL devices to test on it but the manual does not have any listing for PAL in the video specs.

Since my last post I've also tried Mario Super Sluggers NTSC and only got the green screen. I tried both NTSC rip and changing region to PAL, same results.

Ferrari Challenge PAL regionfrii'd to NTSC. Full color with RCA cables. Load times are long.

Hmm interesting.. so the reason you able to that is because your tv supports 480i

I had the same problem, just rename backup-creator to backup and then go to open with and browse the backup.exe from the folder and open it from there!

480i is standard definition on NTSC. 576i is standard for PAL

NTSC Wii
PAL Soul Calibur Legends
imgburn set to auto speed

The game plays fine with the usual slow load times. The in-game cut scenes are fine, but the ones before the levels load are unwatchable.

But here's a new problem; when I hit home and tried to go back to the wii home page it turned off like it normal does where it shows all of the white boxes, but it never actually did. The screen flickered and went black, but nothing ever came up. The green light was still on but nothing was happening. I pressed buttons on the wiimote and nothing happened, eventually it lost sync. I hit reset on the console and nothing happened. I had to hold down the power button for a while and it finally shut off. When I turned it back on everything was fine.

Just throwing that out there to let you guys know about it. This is the same game that had the weird size problem that I mentioned earlier.

Ok, still having problems with GH3 Custom disc. Green screen for a second and then the game loads up and seems to be playing just fine except the screen is flickering like its copy protected or incorrect region.

WiiFrii (PAL to NTSC-U) > Backup Creator > ImgBurn

I'm wondering if anyone knows how to get past this copy protection or incorrect region.

I have already successfully burned StarWars TFU NTSC successfully and it works fine. I'm using an NTSC Wii.

Toss out those ideas please.

i came across this video today.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owv95TdgDss...feature=related

and in it, he says that wanin says he IS going to continue the project.
does anyone have word on if these people know what they are talking about?

it would be such a shame for wanin to spend his time building this to trash it.
but either way, he should do what he feels is right, and not be pressured by people on the net.

I sent Waninkoko an email just now, asking if what he was saying was true or not. I guess we'll hear the truth soon hopefully.
