Updated Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition [PAL] information:
QUOTE said:
Hardware: PAL Wii with 3.3E Firmware
Media used: Imation DVD-R (I've been told they don't work very well. Read the end of the post for more information.)
Software used: Nero and/or ImgBurn
Burn Speed: 4x

NOT WORKING = Freezes at a Black/Gray/Green Screen
NOT PLAYABLE = Freezes in-game or during loadings.
PLAYABLE = Game playable with no/minor bugs.

Games:
Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaishi 3 [PAL] - NOT WORKING [Green Screen. Test will be re-run with TDK/Verbatim discs.]
NiGHTS Journey of Dreams [PAL] - NOT PLAYABLE [Freezes after the 'Sonic Team' logo. Test will be re-run with TDK/Verbatim discs.]
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition [PAL] - NOT WORKING [The Backup Patcher generates a 'unknown' ISO type. Trying to burn/run it will end up on a green screen.]
WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2008 [PAL] - NOT PLAYABLE [Freezes at the first loading screen. Test will be re-run with TDK/Verbatim discs.]
I'll re-run all the tests (Except for RE4, because it is a problem with the Backup Creator and not the Discs/Backup Loader) using TDK or Verbatim disc as soon as I get my hands on them.

After that, the next ISOs I'll download/test are:
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn [PAL]
Mahou Sensei Negima - Neo Pactio Fight [NTSC-J]

That's it for now.

@Fye_DX: Ive managed to get Resident Evil 4 PAL to work, this is how...

Run it through Backup Creator, and after the file will be 3.83gb which IMGBurn says is Invalid ISO, but if you use Alcohol 120%, you will need to setup a virtual drive in the program then mount the image(partition), then click on Copy Wizard, then at the top select the Virtual Drive, then at the bottom choose 'Copy Current Disc on the Fly', then click next, then choose ur DVD writer and burning speed, and the Write Method is on DAO, and Enable Buffer Underrun Technology is ticked.

Hope this helps you, and other people.

Anyone have a problem with the backup creator.
I have used a few iso's that are 4.3gb approx in size.
when patched they are 250mb approx.

games so far

ea playground
london taxi rush hour
]

i think that happened to me once, but then i just re-patched it, and it was the right size.
i was thinking somehow it was interupted.

Tried it a few times but no luck.
even with the GUI .
its a strange one, as there are reports on the wiki site that london taxi rush hour works?

Try closing down all applications that were running during your first patching. Stuff like Firefox, torrent clients, MSN, Winamp, etc. and then try again.

Dang still the same. some games show up fine, others just showing as around 250mb. the mind boggles.

Jesus THIS HAS BEEN ANSWERED IN THE THREAD ALREADY FOR GODSSAKE PEOPLE the patcher seems to REMOVE the dumby data thus your left with essentially A SCRUBBED ISO just burn the fucking thing itll work

ummm.....yea........except the 250 mb iso sometimes won't even open in IMGburn 2.3.2.0, the 4 gig ones always do,
so obviously, something is up.
you can upgrade to IMGBurn 2.4.2.0 and itll work,

but something made it not want to open in 2.3.2.0 when the others (4gigs) open up fine.

Youll find that imgburn is sometimes crap i have problems now and then opening in one of the 3 i use (imgburn/nero/alcohol) i burn most i can using alcohol so far everygame ive tried works if it wont open with alcohol you find it will on another one

Just for the record ive just tried and can confirm
Top Spin 3
Soul Cal
both work fine only slow fmv

Just to add i have 2.4.2.0 of imgburn its still rubbish compaired to alcohol 120%

I have 5 backups so far all run and are in color with standard cables (ntsc wii). The games are Wii Chess (pal iso), Excite Truck (pal iso), Guitar Hero with RockBand Songs (ntsc iso), Star Wars TFU (ntsc patched to pal), and Mario Sluggers (patched to pal)

So does this mean that using PAL games on NTSC Wii's will make the black and white go away???

I don't know, I think a big part of it depends on the tv, mine will take NTSC or PAL so that might be why it works.

I have a question that never got answered. Is there any way to get color with AV cables on a NTSC wii?

I would like to know that too.

All of them are playable except the Guitar Hero one, because the note charts jump all over the place when I can hear the Wii from the disc. I would assume it's a probably with the loader and the read speed, but others claim that the guitar hero customs work. Is this fixable by using Verbatim discs insted of the no-name ones I have?

I cant even get the game to open properly because i have a PAL version that my TV aparently doesn't like. Can you post or send me a PM as to where you got the NTSC ISO for GH3 Custom RB Songs?

MAJOR NEWS! I changed the setting on my TV to PAL, and the black and white issue is FIXED!
most people dont have that option.

It's been on the past 4 tvs I've owned. I don't get how someone doesn't have it. My last tv was $40 and they're getting cheaper by the month. Go for a new one.

Yeah, it is. Could be good for you too if you'd take the initiative to get a tv with the capability.
