Wondering, how do I set up gecko mods for Wii game backups?
More specifically, Smash Bros. Infinite.

put everything in your sd, then in usbloadergx go to settings and then set the gecko cheat type to the one infinite uses... then launch the game

Does that actually work? wouldn't it require to make a iso or WBFS of the mod to load in a backup loader? I even tried using Riivolution to load from actual disc, but never can get it to work.

Yes, he just needs the right files, RSBE01.gct in the right folder and the hook type set to... VBI?

No need to create a modified iso

Hmm.. The Smash Bros. Infinite file might be different than most, then. It's an .elf file.
Is it even compatible in that case? It seems like it would only be possible with the disc itself in the drive.

you do something like this... but with the hook type set to VBI (I think)... also I think you still need a 2GB SD but I could be wrong

look up for a folder called "codes" in your sd card, if it doesn´t exist create a file called "codes" and drop "RSBE01.gct" in there, then do what you just saw in the video, it should work

(and remember to put everything else in the root of your sd card)

Thank you for the help! But what I'm getting at is the Smash Bros. Infinite file is an .elf file and not a .gct file.
Actually, now that I think about it, I downloaded the Dolphin version.
I guess it makes sense it wouldn't be compatible. Going to look for a different version of the mod. Thanks again!

Well, I tried it with the 4GB version, and no luck so far.
Actually, what I got, was a weird crash where my screen went black and I had an annoying noise.

There's a lot of Hook types to choose from for trial and error, and each and every time I have to unplug my wiiu when it crashes. Kind of a pain. Anyone know which one would actually work, if at all?

I can’t figure out how to have my games on USB Loader GX how was it done in that video?

Like I meant to have my Wii iOS accessible from my Wii menu also I’m doing this on a vwii
