Vita Game Dumper Leaked

N6NYRdW.png

The PS Vita game dumping tool, known as Vitamin, has just been leaked and is being tested and, so far, confirmed to be legit.

I am personally testing it by dumping one of my game cartridges (Gravity Rush) as we speak and everything looks good so far!

Needless to say, expect a huge surge in PS Vita sales (if you can still find one!) on both new and used units, as well as price hikes in the already notoriously expensive Sony Vita memory cards.

As a side not, please do not attempt to run this tool yourself until developers can confirm it is safe! It -may- brick your device!

Where does the forced update story keep coming from?

The Wii U forces updates in the background. The Vita doesn't.
The PSVita has an option to automatically download and install system software updates, but it can be disabled in the settings.

Settings -> System -> Autostart -> Download Update file for System Software is the checkbox you're looking for.

Please tell me more, how I do this? Thanks in advance.
Using the henkaku spoofer to redownload my taiko no tatsujin v dlc's, forgot to backup it and vitamin broke the install after the console entered sleep mode.
- Open Playstation store in Web Broswer on PC
- Log in
- Go to Download list
- Click the "Download directly to my PS vita button"
- Wait for an hour or two until it starts downloading. If not reboot your console and re-apply Henkaku.
I thought this function was commonly known.

It's not, that's the first I hear of this as well, although admittedly I don't follow hacking news.

During all my time here, I've never seen anyone make up so much bs about a console in one post.
What do you mean? Cx
Maybe I'm out of luck. But that's what I hear from all these people who are selling vita consoles.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

It doesn't force you at all.
I'll keep on looking for a used unit then. Thanks gbatemp.

Not one of the things you said were true. The console only asks if you want to update if you try to use firmware "dependent" features like the store or other PSN features. It will NEVER minimize the game and tell you to update, it will not auto download updates unless you tell it to, and even if you do, it will only download them, it still needs user input to install. It doesn't download or update in sleep or anything, so yeah. Whatever you have heard from sellers or whatever is completely false.

well, with this kind of developement, at least there might finally be enough interest in the vita to warrant someone to invent a microsd adapter. if not for the sd slot, maybe the game slot could actually be used. though it seems super unlikely
It's true and it WILL happen eventually. There are already people working on it, and I think RichDevX even has a working prototype.
