If you like N64 games as Tom & Jerry: Fists of Fury, Animal Forest, Puyo Puyo SUN 64 or others for those game systems, and you want to see in action as Wii VC games, this is the tutorial for you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
WARNING WARNING WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unproperly following these instructions and/or unproperly packing the 00000000.app file CAN HARD-BRICK YOUR Wii!!!!!! DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CREATE CUSTOM Wii VC WADS unless you know what are you doing!!!!!! It's highly recommendable that you have installed in your Wii any brick protection such as BootMii as boot2, or Priiloader!

-------------------------
CAUTION:
-------------------------

N64 VC emulation is too poor on Wii, so you will have an 85% chance that your injection fails because the game does not load and crashes on the "You will need the Classic Controller" screen, and you only have an 15% chance that your injection runs fine on your Wii (often with glitches and issues).
You can see the compatibility of the N64 games that work on Wii VC in this link: https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/VCInjections_Compatiblity_List#Nintendo_64

Here are the steps to inject your game!

----------------------
You can download the tools here: https://gbatemp.net/download/all-in-one-wii-vc-injecting-tools-by-saulfabreg.35917/

  • Wii Mod Lite (released by RiiConnect24 bashed on jskyboo's WiiMod)
  • Multi-Mod Manager (released by Wiiwu)
  • YAWMM (Yet Another Wad Manager Mod) (released by Leathl, WiiShizzza and Cwstjdenobs)
  • WAD Manager (released by Waninkoko)
  • Pimp my Wii (released by Attila and distributed by wii-info.fr)

Gracias.

Hello friend, but the game Earthworm Jim 3D does not save game, because I explain what happened to me, the game in my case was injected with the "romc" method using Mario Party 2 as a base, but there is a detail the game only reproduces by dolphin if you use the rom "Earthworm Jim 3D (U) [!]. z64", but not in real wii, now to run the game on wii inject the game but using a specific rom "Earthworm Jim 3D (U) [t1 ] .z64 ", and the game if I ran on native Wii, only presents the detail that does not save game and when you press" home "it freezes. You can find the roms here (https://drive.google.com/drive/fold...PSugUAwYB2eKhEWDvP3OQuDErqLuzqtTT8WpxvBSxH0oI).
With respect to games that do support saving, you can fix that problem. Thank you.
Hey @Zorg1996 could you remove the link from the message and put it in a private message with me, because it's prohibited to put links to roms in GBAtemp and you will receive a warn?

You have to change the ID of the injected WAD with ShowMiiWads or CustomizeMii. Changing the ID of the WAD will avoid conflict with another installed WAD in the Wii with the same ID (like SM64 WAD). Greetings

Dumb question, would it be possible to inject a rom hack such as smash remix, I don't think it would be possible becuase it is over the size limit but was just curious.

Only a few romhacks can be injected in N64 WADs, with the limit of size of 32 MB. Greater sizes than 32 MB are not supported.

I got a little farther than the wiki with Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon.

Injected into Mario Golf (inspired by WiiU VC thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/virtual-console-injection-caffeine-method.434510/) and got past the controller screen. I was able to navigate the ingame menus and get to the sound test (Oedo Castle is No. 6!).

Unfortunately it blackscreened when starting a game/getting past the ignore no Controller Pak query.

I had grander ambitions for this game though: my initial idea concerned the N64 Controller Pak - I've never seen details of an injection (or VC game in general that supported it). And Goemon needs it to save. But...

Cruis'n USA (and Mario Kart 64) did use the Controller Pak! The Cruis'n USA WAD seems to at least simulate Controller Pak functionality (it might have been edited to save to SRAM/like other VC instead, and they didn't change the original N64 menu). But it's still a possibility, right?

Unfortunately any injection of Goemon into Cruis'n USA failed using all three injection tools (Autov3, Devilken, and OP's). OP's failed for the z64 reason he's currently working on (https://gbatemp.net/threads/help-fi...on-on-bomberman-hero-wad.572904/#post-9392878) so I wanted to put this here as well. I suspect this is just a game size problem. Cruis'n USA was supposed to be a launch title for N64 and there's not much to it. But I have this suspicion that the WAD at least might have what we need for Controller Pak-reliant N64 games.

So finally here's my question: is there any way to edit a WAD to get around the file size problem? I suspect that it was easier to just use the bigger VC WADs rather than try to expand the small ones. But what if a small one has unique capabilities (like Controller Pak emulation)?

Alternatively, is there a small-size N64 game that uses the Controller Pak that someone wants to inject into Cruis'n USA to see if they get anything? (this is assuming I'm right that the injection failures were due to WAD size limitations).

Cruis'n USA WAD used romc compression, but that WAD is so unstable for injections. Try using different WADs of N64 VC for see if it has also issues. Greetings ;)

@SaulFabre You warned about a hardbrick if people messed up. Can't this just be done on an emunand to remain safe?
yes, you can use a emuNAND for avoid that brick in real NAND.
But most people can't make a emuNAND, so i warn about this.
Greetings
