If you like N64 games as Tom & Jerry: Fists of Fury, Animal Forest, Puyo Puyo SUN 64 or others for those game systems, and you want to see in action as Wii VC games, this is the tutorial for you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
WARNING WARNING WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unproperly following these instructions and/or unproperly packing the 00000000.app file CAN HARD-BRICK YOUR Wii!!!!!! DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CREATE CUSTOM Wii VC WADS unless you know what are you doing!!!!!! It's highly recommendable that you have installed in your Wii any brick protection such as BootMii as boot2, or Priiloader!

-------------------------
CAUTION:
-------------------------

N64 VC emulation is too poor on Wii, so you will have an 85% chance that your injection fails because the game does not load and crashes on the "You will need the Classic Controller" screen, and you only have an 15% chance that your injection runs fine on your Wii (often with glitches and issues).
You can see the compatibility of the N64 games that work on Wii VC in this link: https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/VCInjections_Compatiblity_List#Nintendo_64

Here are the steps to inject your game!

----------------------
You can download the tools here: https://gbatemp.net/download/all-in-one-wii-vc-injecting-tools-by-saulfabreg.35917/

@SaulFabre I have a project for you

Someone accomplished something I failed to do with all the tools here. Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon runs on Wii. https://gbatemp.net/threads/mystical-ninja-starring-goemon-wii-vc.346417/

I don't know the first thing about unpacking WAD files. But they did something different there that made the game run. The WAD linked in that thread has two big problems: no HOME menu (console freezes on blackscreen if you press HOME) and distorted sound. But it runs!

Maybe if you peeked into that file, it might give you some insight into possibilities for your N64 injection tool.

I got an error: I am using Rayman 2 as my N64 ROM, and using Sin and Punishment as the VC WAD. I clicked Start waiting for the WAD to inject. I saw the status stuck at Waiting for final injected wad. Did I do anything wrong or is Rayman 2 not compatible?
(EDIT) The program I'm using is Auto InjectuWAD
(EDIT 2)
Even using Devilken Injector, the CMD doesn't recognise "VC.exe" even when I have the file

@SnackyZackyCool Well, check if your ROM and WAD files doesn't have any symbols nor spaces in its name.
Then try again using these injectors or try using my newish N64 Wii VC iNJECTOR here: https://gbatemp.net/download/nintendo-64-wii-virtual-console-injector-beta-version.37151/

But remember, even when you do everything correct for inject your N64 ROM to a N64 WAD, most games will keep freezing/crashing at the "You will need the Classic Controller" screen, due to the poor N64 emulation on the Virtual Console of Wii.

Greetings ;)

@Exidous Well, I already know how to solve issue with HOME button crash by modifying the ROM's ID with the original ID of the base game ROM (that info told me @SuperrSonic) but I couldn't find any solution for sound issues.

Anyways, as a Wii VC iNJECTOR guy, I will try to inject these two games of Goemon / Mystic Ninja to several N64 VC WADs for see if i have luck. ;)

Greetings. :)

Saludos. :)[/CITA]

Well, I tell you that I tried with almost all the official N64 wads (including those with "romc" compression) and I couldn't with any, in many cases it only reaches the title screen and then it hangs, you only see that it is It works in Bomberman Hero, but the sound bug persists, it is somewhat complicated, but it is playable if it is. Hopefully something can be done. Greetings

The file names do not have any symbols and the vc injector download that my pc detects a virus.
@SnackyZackyCool I said that you must disable temporally your anti-virus program before downloading and using my tool, becuase anti-viruses detect my tools as false-positive "virus", but it doesn't have any virus.

Greetings ;)

From where? I keep forgetting.
The save icon files that you generated with the VC Save Icon Maker are stored in the folder where is the photo of the screenshot stored, as I explained in the tutorial. These files copy to the unpacked WAD folder.

Hope this understand, please sorry for my bad English :P

EDIT: I will update this tutorial with some new info ;)

@SaulFabre I used your N64 tool today, works fast and super easy, by following your tutorial!

Now, since the tutorial does not mention it and i did try putting a romc_ROM file inside the ROM_INPUT folder (compressed with the Jurai version since it seems newer than the other romc compressor), how is the file recognized by the injector? Does it need a specific name?

Under which conditions is the romc compression needed or not for a wad? At the moment, i have been following the kinda outdated compatibility list.

Lastly, do you know if there is a way to hack and remap buttons? Mortal Kombat Trilogy is useless with the VC defaults.

This is a significant reason I don't use VC for anything besides N64. The closest thread on point I found was

https://gbatemp.net/threads/virtual-console-n64-specifically-hack-controls.368242/

Which suggests editing 00000001.app, no proof there that it works though. It would be great to figure out if it's possible this way though, presumably the remapped controls could be repacked to fix control schemes in any same-console VC game.

I completely agree. Previous consoles are perfect, but for N64, i only use Star Fox 64, and more recently OoT & MM widescreen. Nothing else, non customizable buttons totally kills it for me.

Sounds interesting, i'll give it a read.

To be honest, i'll always prefer Not64, but having some wads in the console allows me to at least put the NAND to good use with some preinstalled games.

I think the SNES VC Gamecube controller button configuration is horrible. I assume you were referring to the non-VC emulation quality available for older systems.

I use N64 VC for the multiplayer games too, since it generally has fewer framerate issues than Not64 and I don't want anyone I'm beating whining about inconsistent framerate. Admittedly, MK isn't my thing.

Basically I picked N64 VC games for my emunand build based on if they were multiplayer or if they had no/poor performance in Not64.
