Isn't it pretty intuitive that the media you consume will have some influence on you one way or another, be it video games, movies, commercials, news, texts, whatever? Why the outrage? Because you happen to play video games? I welcome every chance to put the media I consume under scrutiny, and I agree the glorification of violence and gore in video games is a problem.

And yet we have movies like Saw where people are dismembered and maimed all in the name of scaring people? Oh, how about the army? Pro military whores like to tout how great the army is, yet they glorify the use of guns and killing people all in the name of peace. Not to mention all the pro gun lobbyists running around saying how great owning guns is, and in turn the NRA glorifies the right to own guns. But hey, I guess you can believe whatever you want when you are a redneck :P

I totally disagree. Subconsciously, if you can't determine the difference between playing a video game and killing in real life, you are completely fucked in the head. I have been playing violent games since I was a kid and not once have I felt compelled to go out and murder someone.

in a way it is correct. there are so many factors that lead to this and maybe the environment created where violence becomes fun, leads to anything violent.
In a way, you're kind of correct. You see, video game companies give warnings to it's players saying that it has violence in it, and etc. They give a sign that you shouldn't even be doing violence anyway! For example, GTA 4.
It has violence in it, A LOT. But when it's the time to choose Darko Brevic's fate, Roman explains to Niko, that he shouldn't even conduct violence at all!

For once it would be nice for someone or a group of people to own up to their bullshit rather then passing off the blame to someone else...

I blame everything, except the person who was obviously insane and didn't seek psychiatric help....

Some people are looking to push weird agenda's every time some unstable individual freaks out.

All you have to do is look at what they want to blame for this happening, if they don't like guns, they want to ban gun sales. If they don't like movies they blame violent movies, music, video games, TV, drugs. I am surprised no one has blamed global warming and pollution yet....

The senator is...true. Ever since I got my NES system and Super Mario, I've had urges to jump on people's heads. It's all video games fault.

Seriously though, this is all a scapegoat game for blame.

Sorry, but the Westboro Baptist Church, Terry Jones (that knob who burned the Quaran) and Alex Jones (pro gun psychopath who tried to get Piers Morgan deported for insulting his 2nd Amendment right with his constitutional right to free speech), ALL top the list of crazy people in this world. Politicians aren't crazy, they are just pretty stupid.
