Not exactly true

A simple search for DSi XL will yield you reviews with information of the minor improvements i.e. Speakers,(This is the most noticeable improvement, apparently) Brightness(by a hair, perhaps - engadget.com), Battery life.

That's all I know, but it's more than your statement which could lead people to assume there is NO DIFFERENCE between the DSi and XL, but hopefully everyone here is capable of doing their on research & not depending on one statement/review but many to sum up their own conclusion...

i kinda regret my XL buying instead of LITE. It's edges are to sharp and it's too heavy to hold for a good period of time. It really hurts my hand after a while.

Well, that nutshell statement is good on this site to answer the questions of whether DSi flashcarts will work on it. In that case, maybe "There is NO DIFFERENCE between the DSi and XL motherboards except their size.

As for the iPad, I don't want to change the subject but the size difference is the one thing that is noticeable from the outside. EVERYTHING is different.

I'm waiting to see if there might be DSi XL versions of homebrews. With the bigger screens you can make icons and keyboard keys a little smaller while still making them touchable. Could fit more on the screen that way.

I got mines today, I'm loving it !
The point is people who say that's the same just bigger, no difference......try to play it first your self, and then go back to play the Lite......you'll hate it and think how did you tolerate that small ass LCD for so long....he he he....

I just tried my old Acekard 2i with the current version (1.6) of AKAIO on new DSi XL v1.4U bronze:
"An error has occurred. Press and hold the power button, ...".

I can play music from my SD card and HeartGold retail runs OK, but AK2i will not boot the DSi XL!
I bought my AK2i before the DSi was released in USA. My AK2i still works with my DSi as well as my DSL.
But not with DSi XL. My DSi is at 1.3U, the DSi XL is at 1.4U.

Update - I just tried different a different AK2i and a DSTTi in same DSi XL - "An error has occurred ..."
Both of these work OK in DSi and DSL. WTF

DSi 1.4 blocked those carts. They work fine in your regular DSi because it's at version 1.3. Get the fixes for them from the Web site and run them using your DSi

I'm not too knowledgeable in the field of apps and homebrews, but can't you just make higher res icons so they scale better?

Huh? You're saying a non-1.4-updated Acekard 2i doesn't work on a 1.4 DSi XL? Woah, I totally didn't know that. /end sarcasm

A lot of people have been reporting the AK2i working on the DSi XL, and I suppose I'm one of them.

Run one of these files in your DS lite using your Acekard, and it should start working.
