Using latest sigpatches on 18.0.1

could I use the latest sig patches while running firmware 18.0.1 ams 1.7.1 E?

I am having an issue trying to launch FC 26 on this firmware
the game installs, the loading screen comes up and then it says 'software error' and the game has to be closed

I noticed that when I attempt to start the game the console does not ask me which user I want to play as.. but interesingly enough the latest sonic racing game works ok

It is to note that I have dowloaded FC26 twice from two different locations

But what are the errors? My exp previously showed that if the firmware was too old
The games would not even install

What im finding is the game fifa26 installs but when launched u know when normal games launch they ask which user u want to launch as? Well fc26 doesnt ask

Modern installers can give you a warning, but use standard crypto method to install the package, to avoid fw check during launch. Thus you can start the game, but it doesn't always click.

in tinfoil you keep 'standart crypto' option on. But it should be already used during the installation, if the game installed at all

whereabouts is that option? I dont see it in the settings for tinfoil and also its been troublesome to install via usb i might try to copy the two fifa 26 files to the microSD card

I am trying to search via USB but still looking into it

it seems I cant easily copy both files locally to the SD card

sigpatches are configured for each firmware version. You don't need to care which firmware version you have you can just replace with the latest sigpatches and it would just work.

But all this is besides the point; you need to update your firmware if you want to run that game. It's that simple.

ok I turned that setting on... but its a very slow install like 3.8mbps

guess we'll let this run

I am planning to install the game only and see if it works
and then i will install the update file is that a good approach?

But all this is besides the point; you need to update your firmware if you want to run that game. It's that simple.

i fear upgrading thanks but being on v 18 has been stable

i might not have any other optin but to upgrade the firmware at this rate...

I still sit on 18.x myself, lucky for me only game I wanted that behaved like this was Hades II, but it works on 18.x if you stay on v1.0, no patch.

tbh its fifa 26 is the only game i really wish to play wrt to the latest games

the base .nsp file installed but same error so i am now installing the update file via tinfoil.....

edit the method you advised did not work..... i just find it weird how the new sonic game works ok but when i launch fifa 26 it just doesnt ask me which user I want to play as and the game starts to load and then crashes. smh

looks like upgrading the firmware is my only option but should I go to v 19? and do I need to update the atmosphere files too?

I told, only game I want that req 20.x is Hades II, and there is workaround.
