could anybody explain to me why a class 4 sd 8gb isnt as fast a older class 4 micro sd plus adapter. I know that there are differences in one class but this feels like a huge difference when loading a game of card (cfw).

Well, as someone stated in earlier posts, the OS ill be improved only a little because it has to do more proccesses and travel more. The NAND OS is flashed directly onto the system board, so it has instant access and loads better.

In emuNAND, the whole OS is stored on the SD Card. Of course, that means if you make the OS drive (SD Card) faster, it will make the OS faster.

I noticed an increase also when I switched from the stock 4gig SD to a class 10 micro SD with adapter. Just curious though, would using an SD card as opposed to the micro + adapter be faster, or is it negligible?

No one knows. If you look at the list of "verified" SD cards on nintendo support page it lists all of the Sandisk extreme cards. But it ships with a class 4.

I've read that the original 3ds (xl) used up to class 6, and the n3ds uses up to class 10. UHS-1 cards are more to future proof yourself

Ye, I'm playing mostly off cia so I decided 64gb for internal will be fine. I might buy an old 3ds just to rip games, and convert to cia instead of redownloading.

Then I'll just inject the save and be a happy man

that's a good deal you Europeans have on msd cards though
