Hacking Use Modmii to updade legacy softmod wii

I bought a wii long long ago, i softmod it at that time.

The wii is 3.2J, so i plan to upgrade the softmod to state of art.

So i use the modmii to download lots stuff, and upgrade. it's success!

but, i have a question, the modmii download a wad which upgrade my wii system memu to 4.1J.

1. why modmii did not try to update my system memu to latest 4.3J?
2. why my softmod still keeped after the system menu upgrading? (suppose it will back to stock version.)

4.3 is basically the same as 4.1 but with some attempts to stop homebrew added, so no point to upgrading beyond 4.1.

Installing a new system menu doesn't undo any mods other than attempt to remove the homebrew channel. Other things included in official updates will potentially remove custom IOSs but if u used ModMii it is unlikely your hacks will ever be removed unless you go out of your way to make it happen.
