Hey all, new to messing with the Wii, i stupidly followed a Youtube tutorial which gave me some shoddy old drivers etc. Should of used ModMii, which i have done since to update them all.

Anyway so the problem is USBLoader Gx has a hard time Initializing my Hard Drive, basically the screen will freeze, requiring a power off of the console. This happens every few times i boot it up, not every time.

The other issue is with Super Smash Brothers Brawl using USBGX, as soon as i load the game it goes black and requires a power off too, no sound, just a black screen. Other games are working fine, i have Ocarina on in USBGX too if that makes a difference?

I've tried to figure this out myself reading the old threads and updated the cIOS on 249/250 with d2x-v10-beta52, not sure if i need to do something else, a little stuck now so thought i'd ask !

Here's a syscheck:

Any other info needed? Super Smash Brothers Brawl still isn't working. (Black Screen) I used Wii Backup Manager to verify Brawl and everything came back fine.

d2x in 249/250 are fine on your syscheck. The main difference between v8/v10 is HDD compatibility.

1. What version of USB Loader GX are you using? If it doesn't at show the revision in the bottom left corner of the screen while it's initializing it's old. The latest version is r1260.
2. What type of hard drive is it?
3. Did you make sure it's not your Brawl image? If it's an unmodified ISO then it can be verified, otherwise all WBM can tell you is whether the disc structure is valid.

It might not hurt to try it on another loader like Wiiflow or Configurable USB Loader and see if it works.

Hey GreyWolf :yay:

1. USB Loader GX under credits says: v3.0c IOS249 Rev 21006, D2X V6 Final Base 56
2. Samsung M3 External HD 1TB, Partitioned in half Fat32 / NTFS
3. Just checked on another loader (cfg) and it's running fine, so i changed the IOS to 248 on loader settings in USBGX and it's running!

248 from my SysCheck is IOS248[56] (rev 21006, Info: d2x-v6)
Does Brawl have a problem running on later versions of d2x?

Should i try updating one to latest d2x-v10beta52?
cIOS slot 250 / base 56 / revision 65535?? for example.

Thanks :)

Update: Resolved!
Thanks to Jdbye in IRC for sending me the WADS needed. Basically it needed to have d2x v10 installed on both 249/base 56 & 250/base 57, chose under Loader Settings the new cIOS slot (249 now running d2x v10) and all's booting up properly :D

I've since set USBGX as my default home screen using Priiloader and it's not had a problem after about 6 boot ups with initializing my external HD, so all round awesome.

Hope this helps anyone else reading, Thanks to Grey Wolf for the Assistance and Jdbye for all the help :)
