I hope it's cool if I post up another background that I made for this specific loader. I figure it could be of some use if anyone figures out why the smaller cover art pictures aren't showing up.
This is what it would look like if you got the small pictures working:

Here's the actual bg.png:

I like bits of this and not others, i like the game cases around the images, dont like the wii underneath.

Someone should make a coverflow/appletv like one or an xbox 360 NXE theme

Oooh you should totally give me a suggestion of something to do other than the wii down there then. I still got photoshop open, and I'm totally open to some new ideas.

i actually dont think the wii down there looks so bad myself, this loader is goin somewhere, this is really startin to turn into somethin great, keep this goin mates, this ones got the most potential to shine from the rest

yours looks wonderful, now if you could just merge it with hungyip84 loader but your GUI with a couple extra buttons for his extra options then it would actually be the ultimate loader

Version without the Wii:

I'm all for simple GUIs me, this looks a lot better i think without the stage and just pure black would look better again, im imagining the cases with reflections underneath too like apple does in itunes etc. but obv you cant do that with just the bg image, itd have to be coded in

What could make this one great is if we could figure out why the small images on the sides aren't loading lol. I mean those pictures I posted are mock-ups. In my experience, when you actually use this loader, just the large cover art in the middle actually loads up.

Yeah, that's where I got the idea for this, but like you said, I can't really do the reflections, that's why I put the little "stage" in there. If that wasn't there, I'd lose the sense of depth that I was going for, and it would just look like a small box next to a big box next to a small box. I might play around with shadows a bit though so they aren't just circles.

Where do I download the latest release of this one? on the first page theres r1, r2, r3.. Do I want r3?
Also do I need two sets of images for this, or will it make it smaller itself.

Good work. I like that last one GUI a couple messages above. looks sweet. Much better without the wii on the bottom.

amars464, that is looking really nice.

As already mentioned, if you remove the circle below the box images and just have that black it will look nicer. Again if reflections can be added it would be almost perfect.

I also had an idea with regards to the layout of buttons that everyone seems so confused by and what to have. Why not have none at all and have a button load a info page with instructions there. So say you press the trigger(B) it would flip the screen to show the info page which would have detailed instructions on the buttons and what they do. This way the actual user GUI is uncluttered.

I think most people if not all on here know how to use the loaders and so do we really need the button images telling us how to turn off or go back to the main system menu.

If this can be done it would be perfect for me.

So to clarify:

1) The image has the boxes as you have them with reflections below if possible.

2) The circlly bit below the boxes is removed

3) The trigger button or unused button flips the screen to show a info page with instructions on how to use if really needed

4) The main GUI has no button images on it, just the boxes as you have them now

amars464, with regards to the depth and having reflections, why not have it so there is a gradient going all the way back to the horizon. That way it looks a little nicer and still keeps the depth. Maybe just have a simple shadow below with is easy enough to do?

Two quick things is R3 the most up to date version? The other thing I was wondering is if it is possible to "clean up" the part where it displays the game name, like maybe remove the >> and if possible use a smoother more Wii-ish font that is centered in the box?

amars i liked how you had the blue around the wii slot, you should incorporate that blue slot into the other background without the wii

This is the final version of this background that I'm doing lol
Now more ipod-ish:

@sano: no

@TrickyTony: R3 is the most up to date (hopefully Applebelly comes on soon and addresses issues with the small images [I know, I'm sounding like a broken record, but that's the feature that makes this my preferred loader]) and I don't know about the text. I'm just making backgrounds, Applebelly is the one that actually made this.

amars, i just think you should put somethin around the title box, just like you had on the one with the wii, that would make it stand out more, otherwise title box is kinda plain i think, can you make up one without wii, but still having the box lit up in whatever color you choose?

almost there!, just the reflections shape is off in regards to apple's way, the reflection goes straight down in parallel. atm they look like theyre on plinths.

lol hope im not sounding negative with these suggestions

Haha it's cool dude. Honestly, I'm not too hot on the iPod reflection thing, just because I kind of like doing my own thing instead of totally trying to mimic something else, that's why I stopped with those reflections (not to mention that without actual cover art on the reflections, it kind of just looked like they were on pillars) but it looks as if cdreams just came up with a decent solution for those that want something totally iPod style. Personally, I'm sticking with my 2nd revision (gray stage).

I just updated my image so it has the text for pressing B for info. Should show now:

usbloader.png

Now if someone could make the info page and code it into the loader so when you press B it flips this page or transitions it somehow to show a page with the information on what each button does and how the loader works, then press B again to flip back to this screen.

ye looking back again, i like the gray stage best, though i think you should remove the button layout as the other guy said
either that or reduce the size and put em all in a small box in either one of the corners grouped together. overall im liking it though
