This is really confusing lol

Has anyone gotten the images to download/display on an NTSC console?

if you have everything working fine on a widescreen NTSC tv can you post your config file?

you need to change the "images_path=" to "image_path=" taking out the "s"

it doesn't work :/ not only does it not show the images no matter what I call the directories it also doesn't display the widescreen background image I tried to set it to.

1. So perhaps having two seperate settings would be convienent just for you, but it doesn't make sense for the rest.
2. For the loader, widescreen or 4:3 doesn't matter at all, the signal and handling is the same.

1. Needed for all, not everyone run 4:3, or not everyone run 16:9, there need to be an option to choose (manually or autodetect do not matter).

2. Even though the signal-carrier is the same, NOT having correct background and cover sizes made for 4:3 and 16:9, will make the output on the screen look "wrong".

Of course 16:9 and 4:3 TV's would need differently sized backgrounds and covers. But you just put that background on SD and the loader will read it, there's no need to have the 16:9 and 4:3 backgrounds in different settings: you will only use 1 of them. The same thing applies to the coordinates: you just the coordinates there that fit your situation. The loader would only need to know (and can autodetect) the videomode for the downloading of covers.

I don't understand why having more options is a bad thing? I too switch between 16x9 and 4:3 often, so keeping both sizes on my sd card is needed. If you don't need/want to use the setting/config simply do not use it. Why should the rest of us be limited because "you" have no need for it?

I agree, all the loader need is 4:3 + 16:9 mode, all the quick-presets can be moved to config files on sd-card, that way they are easy to use for people. more like THEMES, background + setting.

-Cios Rev9 (no rev10 because i use a USB LAN)

I don't understand this bit .... why have you not got gone to rev10 because you've got a USB LAN ?? The USB LAN doesn't work with rev9 either.

? my usb LAN does work with rev9!

Does it ?? Using rev9 you can go online via the USB LAN whilst playing games via the USB Loader ?

I was under the impression that until rev11 comes out, the USB Loader won't work with ANY other USB devices ?

I have played online with the usb loader. You just cant use the usb to lan adapter. It has to be wireless.

My vote is to add two lines in config.txt with widescreen coords, more options are better.

not having looked into the source and not being a coder it shouldn't be hard to implement in the sourcecode either (imo but hey I'm no coder)

1. loader does the widescreen look (ie check if widescreen is used or not)
2. if widescreen == true then coords=wcoords

This shouldn't be a problem, and hey it's a nice feature to make it as versatile as it can be without much hassle

Do you use widescreen tv? If yes, then use wimages_path instead.

Also, make sure you have the folder created.

wish there was a way to convert all the old skins to work and display properly on widescreen mode. over 50 skins pretty much now useless
unsure.gif

Im waiting for some background images/skins for the new widscreen option with the widescreen boxart.
Has anyone converted any?, ive got the one by jono which is excellent.

Would be useful to be uploaded to bladexdsl site with the co-ords etc.

Sorry for not reading through all pages but how long should an installation take? Rayman Raving rabbids tv party on 3,67GB takes 20 minutes for me, is that how it should be?

That's possible. It's a lot of data to be copied.
