why dont you just implement it so on bootup so it scans for new games downloads the images then resizes..

Probably a bit more complicated on the coding side of things.. but maybe a way around it.. just a thought..

1. Since I started this project, I haven't had a chance to play with the loader.

2. I will remove the image resize functionality, and now if you turn on widescreen mode, the loader would try to find the XXXXXXW.png (XXXXXX is game id) for you.

1. take your time, chill down a bit, and come back fresh.

QUOTE(LuffarJoh @ Apr 16 2009, 12:47 PM) I have fixed the cover art resizing issue.
It now only resizes the image in the buffer and then displays it.

It actually uses 160x225 pictures for BOTH 4:3 and 16:9 mode, no more editing, in 16x9 mode it displays them as 120x225 onscreen.

Take a look at this for 7.1 (after your break).

Could someone who's been following all releases explain what happened between Narolez v4 and the later versions that broke automatic Japanese language support on NTSC consoles? It used to work perfectly but stopped as of hungyip84's version from page 20.

yeah hungyip, take a break and enjoy what youve done to advance this, doin great mate, come back fresh and kill it

It's this funcunality that causes the loader to crash.
The resizing is done by a library called freeimage, and when this library is loaded the loader crashes.

Aww, that sucks...

i just tried v7 final on my wii and it takes FOREVER to load.. even after loading, the images take longer to load than with v7beta3.. I noticed that the final is almost 3megs. while beta3 is only 600k..

the big size is because of that new library. I assume this is also causing the longer loading times.

It's because of freeimage library. We probably have to get rid of it

the test version you gave us, code dumped on me...

still have the problem with 7.01 after browsing through 30 games it crashes..

that I guess will be to do with the buffer..

Ive tried to reformat it so that it works, but when the cover art gets resized theres some wierd shading business going on that neorame himself will have to look at I guess.

i work in it guys....

and for me the loader reboot after browsing 35 games.

I'm getting a network failed to initialize error when starting up v7 (1.1) and attempting to download covers...

I'm using the widescreen settings if that helps at all...

All my other apps/games can access WiFi... I use FTPii to transfer stuff to my SD Card since I don't have an SD Card reader, so I know my network is working just fine...

I haven't checked in since page 153, and really don't have the patience to check the last 40 pages...

Is this a known error, or is it just on my end?

Here is a 50hz template for black line problem.
Based on these coords:

console_coords=40,98,350,285
covers_coords=482,135

Its widescreen 853x550.
Resize after you are finished to 640x550.
A small note: I find it's much better to add your text and button text after you have resized, as doing so before then resizing and then stretching in the loader again seems to have more blur. Now thats just my view.

Also 550 pixels seems to have a better fit for me some others 530 pixels. I would recommend doing the 550 and just keep from text running into the last 20 pixels, just the theme and colour. This way your background will be more compatible and be suitable for both.

Jarock.. its actually 640 x 530 for pal... not 550 as it tends to overflow...

FOR PAL (Solves Black Line problem at Bottom of Screen)

bg16x9pal.png

Config Settings;

widescreen = 1
wbackground = bg16x9pal.png
layout = ultimatew
console_color =6,15
console_coords=40,106,350,280
covers_coords=481,135
