i tried installing ios 58 with http://wiibrew.org/wiki/IOS58_Installer but the installer failed also i am using a regular wii

Maybe try updating 249/250 to at d2x v8 or v10? If you use v10 don't install the beta53 version. 6176 is the current version of IOS 58 so that should be fine already.

Flash drives seem to have issues on Wiis so if you have a spare HDD it might work better.

Reactions: sideskroll
the issue could be because you have your IOS in slot 249 based on IOS37 instead of being based on IOS56 ?
Also, d2x v6 is old, and more compatibility has been added in v7 and v8. update to at least v8 final, or v10 beta52.
v6 also has bad game compatibility, and doesn't support dol reloading.

Or it's just the common compatibility issue every user has : flashdrive as NOT correctly supported on the Wii.
If updating to d2x v8 base56/57 doesn't fix your issue, try setting IOS to 58 in the loader.

Settings > Loader settings > Loader's IOS : 58
Settings > Loader settings > Game's IOS : 250

Ok, I am able to download all the cover art and I can see all of my games on the page. Once I select a game and get to the menu where it says wii home or start and I click start, the screen goes black and the whole thing freezes up. The other problem I am having is installing games. Usb loader sees that I have inserted a game and asks if i would like to install. When I choose yes install game, the next screen says 100% and then the whole thing freezes and nothing is installed. How do I fix these issues?

Thanks in advance this is my first post and I am relatively new to this.

Try a HDD. Flash drives are notorious for freezing while writing.

Ok, I will toss some games onto a hdd and see if that helps. Do you think that is also why its having issues loading games? Does everything else look ok to you?

Yes. IOS 58 and a recent cIOS in 249/250 is all you need nowadays. If it's still not working with a HDD you might try d2x v10 instead (beta52, not beta53!)

why is there no support for loading wii games from an sd card?
because it's a USB loader.
It was decided very early in the development to not support SD (being small, etc.)
now there are bigger SD card size, but at the time it wasn't available, and again it's an USB Loader. loading from usb is faster, and more compatible. some games don't even work from SD.
you can try with Wiiflow or CFG Loader.

you can even make a wiiflow forwarder, something like WiiGSC, displaying the game in USBGX which launches wiiflow with that game path set to SD.
unnecessary work, but it works.

COVERS SETUP:
Open the plugin ini file in a text editor. find the line coverfolder=. this is the folder where the cover images must go. you must add this folder (for every plugin) to

root:/usbloader_gx/config/images/2D/ for 2D covers or root:/usbloader_gx/config/images/ for 3D covers.WRONG!
correction - apps/usbloader_gx/images/2D or root:/config/images/2D for 2D covers or

apps/usbloader_gx/images/ or root:/config/images/ for 3D covers

Not trying to contradict you in anyways, but here the covers only appears when I put the "coverfolder=" on the same line of the "magic=", for example: magic=46434555coverfolder=Apps/usbloader_gx/Images/2D. Is that normal?

Either way, amazing job of yours! It's just marvelous to see all the games gathered in the same spot!
I don't know if it's with you or not, but can I make you a suggestion to implement an "autoboot" feature on the latest not64.dol? That'll be cool! FCE and 9xGX alredy have one.

not sure why it has to be that way for you .. are you using notepad++ to edit the plugin .ini?

I haven't attempted to mess with wii64 or not64. but you should try the plugins in Abz's wiiflow masterpiece pack. there's a not64 plugin in it.

Oh, thank you for the fast answer.
I'm using a regular notepad, maybe is this?

So, I've actually downloaded this pack, but only the Wii64 comes up with this feature. So I figured out that maybe it's possible to add on the Not64.
Don't get me wrong, it's just an idea to enhance the whole thing.

I'm experiencing something strange: For some reason Ocarina codes are not working, even if individual settings are on. So far I'm experiencing this with DKC Returns. And yeas, I remembered to create the GCT.

@Cyan : I don't know if it's possible and I didn't see a request for that...

Can it be feasible for USB Loader GX to create a Channel Forwarder for games ? It could be interesting that a Channel is created with the setting of USB Loader GX.

there is a tool which can do it (WiiGSC or a name like this); previously named "CRAP".
it created forwarder channels to USBLoaderGX with the GameID passed as argument. USBGX launches that game at boot using the settings set previously (by yourself) in the loader.

USBGX can't generate or install a channel to NAND.

I know that, it's what I use for a long time, but you have to be on the computer.... But it will more easy to do it on the wii via USB Loader :P, it's why I asked that.
