The patch is temporary or it patch the main.dol once for all? If now I'm using these settings: "Video Mode" on disc default, the wii system settings in 480p and "Dol Video Patch" to ALL it's good? It will use the 480p I set on the main menu settings of the Wii?
No you want system default disc default is like name says default video mode of game disc

It is also only patched at boot, no permenant changes can be made I believe.

I think gx isn't loading because I think I set up the forwarder channel from my SD, but I'm not sure. What file should be on my SD drive to run GX from the forwarder, and where? dol or wad or what? Still being new to this I'm getting better but I'm not sure what all those files do. It must be resetting because it isn't finding the files it needs to run.

I gave up on trying to install and launch games on my Wii U and installed HBC and USB Loader GX on a regular PAL Wii 4.3E via Letterbomb. I also installed CIOS's needed to launch USB loaders. The only game I placed on my USB (PAL Xenoblade Chronicles) shows perfectly in the screen (even tough the cover is missing. I downloaded the cover for it via Wii Backup Manager) but once I hit the "Play" button in the USB Loader GUI I get transported to a black screen that says "Reading disc..." and does nothing. It doesn't load.

When I try opening the game on other USB loaders they either crash or send me to HBC menu.
Also, I might have overwritten a "stub" of sorts when installing new CIOS's because I thought it had to be overwritten.

I also just installed a PAL rom of Mario Kart Wii that doesn't have an icon/animation on the channel screen (but is there, indicated by the "NEW" sticker thing). When I click on it it just shows me a black screen and when I try to hit play it just sends me to HBC.

Just use slots 249 and 250 the stubs were installed with 4.3 to block older installations of ciosx(old 249/250 cios)
D2x is a mod of ciosX

The "reading disc..." still happens. I am using the d2x v10 beta alt, do I need to use the normal beta version? Or do I need to use cleanrip first?

theres my cios installation set if you want to get a clear thought on what to have. I thought I was using the non-alt branch but I guess not.
and your wii is too new to rip disc's with cleanrip I find that using all 3 usbloaders will guarantee you the best results.

For example my copy of Sonic and the Secret Ring won't play if ripped from wiiflow or usbloader GX I have to use Configurable Usb Loader mod to get a good rip.

Yeah, I wanted to play the game (Xenoblade) trough an USB Loader but they all send me to a "reading disc..." screen. I don't exactly have a working game disc anymore. So I am guessing that I have to download Hermes and Waninkoko and use them in the same order and way as you?
