Is far as Question #3 goes' yes and no. All of these loaders are based off of the one by Waninkoko. So they all have roughly the same HDD and game compatibility. Additional features such as ocarina and video patching will be almost identical behind the scenes. Also, last time I looked at his source, Beardface had a huge chunk of our code sitting there. But that's the whole purpose of open source development. People get to use our code, just like we have taken chunks from other applications to make this. The major differences between his and ours are 1- the libraries used to write them and 2- we had a head start on him so ours is more refined.

From what I recall, his was mostly C and GRRLIB. This loader is C for the functional parts and C++ for the user interface and written with LibWiiGui. Both libraries have their advantages and disadvantages. I think that once he irons out the couple of big wrinkles, he will have a kickass program. And then we can come behind him and take what we want to from his code.

(plz read first post or help page at site before asking)

Changes since v1.0 (316)
Code:
324:ÂÂÂÂ fixedÂÂissue255
323:ÂÂÂÂ Changed prototype for OnScreenKeyboard. It now accepts minimum entry length to
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ keep people from removing any part of "SD:/" and crashing when trying to download.
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ Also added clear button to delete all text back to the set minimum.
322:ÂÂÂÂ *Fixed BUG: cIOS selected in the GameSettings wasnt loaded before gamestart! Now
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ it should work fine and fix some freezer inside games. ( issue 217 , 227)
321:ÂÂÂÂ Set up 3rd tab in settings screen for any other settings.ÂÂAdded new images for tabs.(NeoRame).
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ Did some housekeeping with the code.
320:ÂÂÂÂ Fixed thi Install-Bug ... i think
319:ÂÂÂÂ *change the keyboard graphics for more wii-ish look
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ *delete keyboard_mediumkey_over.png and keyboard_largekey_over.png
318:ÂÂÂÂ Change themes right when theme path is altered.ÂÂNot really tested, but it should work.
317:ÂÂÂÂ Fixed the scrollbar better with the cursor when dragging it.
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ Tested fine with 30, 60, 150, and 200 in the gamelist.

People who cant load the loader or having some troubles
they should try to use .ELF
since .ELF is a lot more accurate in processing code

I am in North Carolina till tomorrow visiting the inlaws so i don't have my wii.

have they fixed the scroll bar issue where it keep scrolling past the page size you choose ? also the issue with to many characters if you shrink the options window.

Any title deleter DB mod can list the channels and manage them....Alternatively Wad Creator will also at least list each channel installed hidden or otherwise...Also you can make a WAD DUMP of a channel still installed then use this dumped wad in Wad Manager to delete the channel...Or use ATD after identifying your channel/s.

2:Theres only a few forwarders out for the new gx loader and yes your right about it.Just replace the old dol file with the new one on the sd card.

What are they named?
smile.gif

different forwarder have different directory requirements for example one may want the BOOT.DOL file in: SD:/apps/usb-loader/boot.dol while the next requires the directory called: SD:/apps/usbloader/boot.dol...

and being they are context sensitive you have to read the directions from the page you DL the loader...Also not ALL versions will work "well" with a forwarder so it never hurts to learn how to use Wadder (you can make and dol into a channel in a few seconds time) then you can use a channel but without the worry of crashing (like most forwarders seem to do at random with this loader also ripping does not work as stable from a forwarder on my 3.2U wii so that was another reason i stray from my fancy animated forwarder channel for a stable Normal wad....

Version 1 r324 channel I just made and tested

Hope my experience with it can help some of my fellow brew readers! good luck guys! and great work to the team!

Alright I found a bug.... When you remove a game off of the usb then try to install a new game, it corrupts the usb then you will need to re format it to wbfs (I just do this with usb loader 1.1) and when you try to go back in, and try to install a game it gives you code dump errors and you have to restart the wii. The version I am using is 19 I think. And I am sorry if someone already mentioned this or if the coders already posted this in their bugs.

Slightly off topic but...Custom wads always have to be deleted through Wad Manager. Otherwise they do not actually get deleted and still use up blocks.

Is there a way to tell if there are any that didnt get deleted by wad manager?

Not sure, I learned the hard way by filling it too full and then it would not load HBC or anything because there was an out of memory error. I ended up having to reformat it to fix it. This was just a few weeks ago. That is why I am now using a hard drive. I would say go into Wad Manager and press the - again and see if it can still see it and uninstall it. I would think that it can.

Missed that^ ....good to know.

Here is the latest r324 but I included a toggle button to turn the menu music on and off. You just have the click the speaker icon to toggle the menu music! The icon is black when the music is on and gray when the music is off.
I also made it so the menu music will shut off while you are adding a game so you won't have to listen to it the entire time. The music then turns back on when the add is complete!

The source code and a compiled dol and elf are included:

Just FYI, I had eleven games that would not dump with IMGburn on any of my three PCs no matter what. They had tons of unrecoverable read errors and CRC errors and in the end the loader dumped them all perfectly. It also dumps way faster as it doesn't dump them all to 4.5GB and then have to still copy them over with WBFS. It seems to rip out the unneeded data on the fly. This program rocks. I notice a couple bugs, sometimes after ripping a game if I change the name the screen goes blank and locks up and I have to hold down the power button to reboot it. Happened once in the settings screen also. Then it seems that almost every time that I exit out and go back to the menu and then back into the loader it doesn't recognize my hard drive and I have to power cycle it. Other than that it has been working like a champ!

hi

good job to all contributosr....
I have two questions :
- Do you planned to play mp3 in background ?
- Could you add an option in cfg for path of cfg
wink.gif
?

thanks for all

I like the music toggle but I think it would look better if it were the same blue as the batteries when on and gray when off.

I thought about this earlier today. I thought so hard it made my head hurt.
The trouble with this is that it needs a config to tell it where the cfg path is. If you want to save your settings in SD:/assclown/fartbreath/ How will the loader know to look there? It's the chicken and the egg situation. There has to be a path coded into the app. Either that, or it scans the entire SD card looking for the config file.

You may find this hard to believe (had i not experienced it i know i would) However Its likely your DVD DRIVE not the IMGBURN APP
wink.gif

I have 2 drives one a sony dru dual layer dvd burnder......the other a VERY CHEAP LITE-ON DVD READER....

Using the "better sony burner....I GOT A TON OF READ ERRORS! (creating image from disc using backups to add to my usb loader USB external WD book drive)

YET if i use THE CHEAP DVD ROM READ DRIVE FROM LITE-ON I CAN MAKE PERFECT ISO FILES FROM ANY BACKUP USING IMGBURN!

HOW CRAZY IS THAT!!!!!

So while i know it sounds like a case of insanity ...Just try a drive thats NOT a burner but just a plain DVD-ROM to make the backup ISO from with IMGburn (turn of verify it wont help a wii game and be sure you IMGburn is fully updated the app is free!)
