Great work on this project - thanks for all the hard one devs (not to mention those of you who did a great job on the covers and disc images) - really appreciated

Of course I have something to ask...
Please can someone helpo me - I have been looking all over for this forwarder channel (as seen in the vid on the first page), it doesn't appear to be linked anywhere
frown.gif

Does anyone have it and would be willing to share?

Many thanks,
Olywa

And in case I get told to search I have already clicked through all 275 pages of the Ultimate Loader thread and this thread and done many searches but after over 3 hours of looking decided it might be better to ask!

NeoRame made that one, I've sent him a PM asking for the banner for the channel. Hope he notices it.

Thanks Anubis,
I have these images and tried to make a wad forwarder myself but kept failing - can you make one if I post the images?

Cheers,
Olywa

Sure thing.

QUOTE(BlackEnigma @ Apr 24 2009, 08:07 PM)
In 149 it seems like the Display option in the settings doesn't stick (or save)
It just goes back to what it was previously on (which is both as opposed to neither or game id or game region)

I also noticed this, can someone please fix it?

i believe the settings dont save yet until they implement a settings.cfg file

Thanks Anubis,
I thought i'd skip the quoting to reduce the clutter

I've still been searching through different threads and just found this one http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=145...0&start=240
it has the banner/images at the bottom - it also has a few wad/forwarders in the thread so I thought I'd struck lucky but there are reports later of code dumps. (not sure if it's down to the nunchuck issue that some forwarder have.

Any chance you can produce something?

Many thanks,
Olywa

this is the forwarder I use for ultimate usb loader, it works great with no code dumps. But I'm not sure who made it.

boot.dol

OK,, I tried out Soggs UNIILOADER and its pretty nice but one thing I noticed about it that was TOP!

When you need to patch vid or change language, his loader saves that info on the WBFS partition in some "unused places" he called it...

This would be nice if implemented in this loader. Not a necessity but I thought I would bring it up.. Maybe "other" things can be stored in these "unused places"

lol

HELL YES, I was just thinking of something like this. I think the game use the game ID as a file name.
What if we made a file on the drive using the same naming format and had the loader read and write to it as a text file
We could use this file for all the config option and more

Also doing it this way we could get rid of the need for sd card because maybe we could also have it save the images to a folder on the hdd too.

Saving game settings to hdd was done in ultimate v3, but it got removed. There are some issues with this:

First, different loaders might set different bit in the unused space. If you switch from this loader to another loader, then it will mess up the settings.

Second, from the feedback of ultimate v3, ppl don't like the idea of writing the settings into the game. They want to keep the game clean and untouched. That's why it got removed in Ultimate v4.

For this loader, I would say that save settings would still be implemented to save on SD card.

Hello
I've read the first page and the wiki but I've a probleme.

*My wii is 16/9 mode
*I use R148 without theme ( just original)
* I have this config.txt ( sd:/config) only this is active : wtheme_path
QUOTE said:
#images_path =SD:/images/
#theme_path = SD:/apps/usbloader/theme/ (for non-widescreen)
#wimages_path = SD:/wimages/
wtheme_path = SD:/apps/USBLoader wii/theme
#layout = ultimate2
#covers = 1
#simple = 0
#home = reboot
#download = 1
#console_color = 2,15
#savesettings = 1
#max_characters = 37
#video = system
#ocarina = 0
#language = console
#parentalcontrol = 0
#downloadinstall = 1
#hidesettingmenu = 0
widescreen = 1
#wimages_dl_url = http://www.theotherzone.com/wii/widescreen
#images_dl_url = http://www.theotherzone.com/wii
#hidesettingmenu = 0

* I've a folder theme ( SD:/apps/USBLoader wii/theme)
*Inside I've this theme.txt

QUOTEshow_id = 0
show_region = 0

The probleme is that I always have the ID and REGION ( underside and top the cover)

Thak you

You are having two problems here

first, the config.txt should be sitting in SD:/config/config.txt now

second, you missed the / at the end. it should be wtheme_path = SD:/apps/USBLoader wii/theme/

boot.dol

I'll try making a channel out of this in a minute then.

I understand that Box Art downloading with eventually make it back into the loader, but what I haven't heard is if that Disc Art downloading will be included as well or once it grabs that box art it gets disc art too?

rev149 DOL (tweaked)

Tweaks:
Code:
+Default video mode set to "System Default"
+Password for childproof options changed from AB121B to ab121b
+Enabled "Force NTSC" as an option on the settings menu
+Changed the BG Song to the default Wii System Menu one

Changelog (since rev148):
Code:
+Just deleted some trash in the images folder
+created a new credits screen

I also made for myself a rev148 with the "Check Mii Out" tune (and the other tweaks), its rather larger then the others, but in case anyone wants it: HERE

dood,

is there any way of expanding the numbers of text lines within the games list? potentially having this as a setting to auto-change the text size to accomodate?

9 games on the screen is too little for me

also cant see force ntsc, only force 50& 60 PAL

cheers

Well, which forwarder do you use? Cause it could be that the forwarder you have is pointed at another direction or it could be that you spelled boot.dol wrong or even the foldername, then you will appear with a black screen, cause i tryed it once my self.

The forwarder i'm using is HDD_FORWARDER, the same on your screen shot.... and if you check my message, the loader "LOAD" but i only see a black screen... I can click anywhere and I can start a game (by try and error).... but I EAR the music, only black screen when i'm using the forwarder.... but if I load the loader from HBC, I see the GUI without problem...

autoinjectuwad is what I used for it. I just found a forwarder I liked that code-dumped then injected that boot.dol in it's place.

Hi, I tested the r149 and I have one comment:

when you go to settings page and go back to the main screen, the position in the game list is reset to the first game. It would be better to keep the same previous position.

I have another question: my wii is PAL and when I play NTSC games they are B/W. Is there a solution to have colors with them ? Thanks.

hi....this is nothing to do with the topic...but....fuck...my wad manager 1.3 stoped working....it starts like this:

Initializing libfat, please wait... ok!
Retrieving device contents, please wait... ERROR! (ret = -1)
Press any button to restart

Ok... i think i have all ok...
sd:\wad\ all wads here
sd:\apps\ all apps here

The only thing i had made recently was puting geexbox in apps ....and copied ALL from SD to disk, formated SD, and moving again all things to SD .....im thinking in bad copy then ...dont know...anyone knows?

EDIT:
Ok..i think i know what is the problem. ....i tried again all the files and folders with the 2Gb card i had previosly wich is in FAT... .and works !
so ......with this new one of 4Gb wich i cant format it in fat. .....i can only format it in FAT32 ....anyone knows how to change this? is it possible?...

ditto,

cant format SD cards in FAT16, only FAT32.

i also get this error when using any SD card with more than 2Gb memory. unless its the fact that firmware 3.4 and less does not have a software update to use SDHC cards

try force PAL or Patch game under options.
