@Joseito I'm pretty sure that isn't a USB Loader GX issue, so do what GDX suggested.

Enable hack in priiloader: `No-Delete hack HAXX, JODI, DVDX, DISC, DISK, RZDx`

Or disable WiiConnect24
I don't have a balance board and I don't use WiiLink, so I can't test this for myself.

With USB Loader GX v4.0 r1283 the game seems to always run correctly, but I lose the 60 Hz on SNES USA-Japan (only playable via RCA cable) since the Region Patch doesn't seem to work on this version.
What are your exact settings?

If you set Video Mode to Force PAL60 and Dol Video Patch to Region Patch then the NTSC render modes will be converted into their PAL equivalents. And that seems to work, as my TV displays PAL60 in the corner when I enable it.

Hello. I installed CFW on a new Japanese Wii (probably revision "RVL-CPU-20/30" or "RVL-CPU-40/50/60"). I followed this guide. cIOS installed using the latest d2x-v11-beta3, according to the guide. Then I copied the latest version of USB Loader GX to a sd card, launched it successfully, changed the language to English, and then did this for autostart. Everything seemed to be working fine (I hadn't gotten to testing games yet), but suddenly, when I clicked on the loader menu, this error appeared. Then everything worked again. What could this mean?

Then, during one of the launches of FCE Ultra GX from the HBC Menu, an error occurred.

Hello,

Post a syscheck report to see if this is correct.

If you launch your games from a USB drive, it may be the USB drive itself (not powerful enough or incompatible with the Wii).

Test your games with an external FAT32 hard drive, if possible, and see the results.

This may be due to your SD card, not enough power.

Your SysCheck report looks fine.

Then, during one of the launches of FCE Ultra GX from the HBC Menu, an error occurred.
As it's crashing with other homebrew too, it's likely caused by the SD card and how it's formatted.

If you're using Windows, you can use Rufus to format the SD card or USB drive. Just copy the exact settings shown here.

Always eject your SD card or USB drive before removing it from your PC, otherwise data can get corrupted and that'll cause crashes.

Hey all, quick question! How do I get USB Loader GX to commit it's memory card changes to Nintendont?

When I first booted up Madden 08, the game tells me that I have insufficient space on the memory card and I need to have well over 251 blocks to save everything the game wants you to save. I get back to USB Loader GX by turning off my Wii, go to Loader Settings, set Memory Card Emulation to "Individual", set Memory Card Blocks Size to "1019", boot up Madden 08 again and I still see the insufficient space warning. When I continue past that message without saving I can try and save my Profile settings to the card, which shows that the memory card has 251 blocks free. Trying this whole thing again, and only changing the card size, does nothing: Madden 08 still only shows 251, even if I'm higher or lower than 215 in the settings. While I can't show you images of my setup 'cause my account is so new, but I can confirm that I've confirmed my Loader Settings multiple times! And each time I open up Loader Settings it shows my memory card size changes. What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks in advance!

I formatted the SD card using Rufus and now I can't reproduce those errors. Thank you! Are there any tips for using an SD card in the Wii, similar to the tip to eject your SD card in Windows?

I have a few more questions. I noticed that the emunand feature does not work in SD card mode. To use it, I started using a USB card reader with another SD card (before that, I thought it was convenient to have only one SD card in the Wii's own SD reader (SD-Wii)). I noticed a significantly faster speed when launching GameCube games and decided to transfer more data from SD-Wii to USB-SD. In the end, I saw that everything could work without SD-Wii at all.

Is there an advantage to the "all data on SD-Wii" option compared to the "all data on USB-SD" option?

Is there any need for an SD card in the Wii slot if all the data is on USB-SD? In other words, are there any advantages to the SD-Wii+USB-SD combination compared to USB-SD only?

Is the method mentioned here for obtaining 240p in Virtual Console titles installed on emunand still relevant? That is, you need to enter the code as written here, then you can dump the nand to emunand, and the WADs installed on this emunand will run at 240p?

I think I've found the correct answer. If 480i is selected in the system, VC games will be in 240p. From the text on consolemods, I got the impression that this mode is not enabled by default in all games.

I can't get Call of Duty - Modern Warfare - Reflex (USA) (En,Fr) [RJAE52] to run. I get a black screen every time I try to launch it. Is this a known issue with the game, or could there be something wrong with my system? Syscheck report is the same as I shared above.

The issue seems to occur because I removed a line of code to fix a problem for some other games and channels, but these particular games seem to rely on it.

Once I've got a fix in place, I'll shoot you a message.

About the fix for Cubello, I'll be interested as well, thanks

Now, those four games that only ran on PAL-Wii can also run on Japanese Wii with the region change made.
Hello,

In your game settings, set the CIOS to 250 and test again.

Have you tried the PAL version?

Call of Duty games generally run on a 057 base.

I'll look into this in a few days. I'm currently sick.

EDIT: This is a Nintendont limitation, since it won't resize memory cards once they've been created.

Look in the saves folder on your USB drive or SD card for GQ8E.raw. Delete it and then when you launch the game again it'll create a new memory card with 1019 blocks.

I formatted the SD card using Rufus and now I can't reproduce those errors. Thank you! Are there any tips for using an SD card in the Wii, similar to the tip to eject your SD card in Windows?
Never remove your SD card or a USB drive while you're using them in homebrew. But it should be safe to remove either while you're viewing the Homebrew Channel.

Some older apps will only work from an SD card. And USB HDDs need to spin up whenever they're accessed, so that parts slower. However, once a USB HDD is initialised and the partitions have been mounted it'll be faster than most SD cards.

Personally, I keep all of my homebrew on an SD card and my game backups on a USB HDD.

I think I've already fixed this problem for my next update. But I'll double check in a few days and then I'll edit this post.

Unless you've got outdated cIOS versions in other slots, there should be no need to modify a games IOS setting anymore since the automatic settings should handle things properly.

In a future update outdated cIOS versions will be less problematic too :)

Is there a way to get Project+ working with USB Loader GX?
This is something else that'll be easier to use with the next update. But the guide that you've linked to should work as long as you put everything on an SD card correctly and you're using an NTSC version of Brawl, since that's what Project+ expects you to use.

I am using the NTSC version, though I haven't split it, because my drive is ntfs, not fat32. Could that be the issue?
The cheats file gets detected, so that should be in the correct place. I can see a lot of cheats, some of which are enabled. I didn't touch it, just enabled ocarina.

So right now my SD card looks like this (abbreviated):

/gameconfig.txt (renamed from gc.txt)
/codes/BOOST.gct
/codes/BOOST.txt
/codes/RSBE01.gct
/codes/RSBE01.txt
/Project+/and_everything_inside
/wbfs/Super Smash Bros. Brawl [RSBE01]/RSBE01.wbfs

But whenever I launch the game, I just end up being in vanilla brawl. Could there be some other global or game specific settings that I might have changed unintentionally that could be responsible?

My wbfs file is 6.92GB. Seems like it's only the game partition. Is that okay?

EDIT: Using the Project+ loader it boots and plays fine, so my wbfs file should be correct.

That shouldn't be an issue. Although, using NTFS will cause you issues in the not too distant future.

Delete BOOST.txt and RSBE01.txt from the codes folder on your SD card.

Then you should just need to launch USB Loader GX, select the game, go into it's settings and set the following.

Video Mode: Disc Default
Dol Video Patch: Region
Ocarina: ON
Hooktype: AXNextFrame

If that doesn't work for you then go to the loaders main settings menu, select Custom Paths and make sure GCT Cheat Codes Path is set to sd:/codes/ and TXT Cheat Codes Path is set to sd:/txtcodes/.

I've had someone confirm that this is working with USB Loader GX r1283.

I think the current settings menu is a bit long and cumbersome, especially the Launcher properties section.

I hope we can revamp that entire section at some point.

Is the dark filter issue in Wii-VC games still relevant in the new version of USB Loader GX? Do I need to follow these guides, or can I disable the dark filter in the loader itself? The goal is to play in 240p on CRT with the most authentic look possible.

ModMii can disable the dark filter, just open/edit the WAD using modmii and follow the prompts
I checked it on NES and the game is still dark. Am I right in understanding that the dark filter does not apply to 240p games, and that if they are dark, it is because of the pallete in the emulator? And that disabling the dark filter may only work for some 480i Wii-VC games, but at the cost of increased flickering on CRT?

AFAIK it only applies to the following titles:

Mario 64 NTSC-US (ID NAAE)
Mario Kart NTSC-US (ID NABE)
Mario Tennis NTSC-US (ID NATE)
Wave Race NTSC-US (ID NAIE)
Cruisin' USA NTSC (ID NASE)
Wave Race PAL (ID NAIP)
Super Mario 64 PAL (ID NAAP)
Mario Kart 64 PAL (ID NABP)
Mario Tennis PAL (ID NATP)
Cruisin' USA PAL (ID NAST)

Edit: disabling deflicker is a separate filter/patch, modmii can also handle that, as well as the n64 ram/expansion pak patch. Disabling the dark filter shouldn't have a downside in terms of flickering, that's just the deflicker patch (ideal to disable deflcker if on newer tv's, and leave it enabled for older CRT tv's). I'm actually not sure what the point of the dark filter is to begin with, maybe epilepsy related?
