It's strange because the Wii versions of REmake and Zero were ported at the same time by the same team. It's a massive oversight.

You can use the WiiU Widescreen setting under Features to force the game into 4:3. This should not be used with REmake because it already runs in the correct aspect ratio.

Pressed the PS button during usb loader gx startup and again once it'd fully loaded, no input in usb loader gx, sync lights kept flashing then went out. I checked with USB/BT JoystickCenter in Android and it seems my ds3 is still paired to my old csr bt dongle 00:15:83:4C:3A:5B, guess i'll have to double check with http://www.dancingpixelstudios.com/sixaxiscontroller/tool.html though.
This is with my unofficial ds3 that needed the polltype changing to 1 to work with HidTest and nintendon-t via usb.

I don't know where it's grabbing my controller bt address from because my wiimotes are
P1 - 00:1A:E9:38:16:FF
P2 - 00:24:44:AA:59:4E

GeeXboX for Wii also comes up as, this is my Wii local bt address also?
00:1E:A9:1D:7D:CA
by comparison my Wii mac address is
00:1D:BC:76:EA:CF

my Android Nexus 7 2013 bt is
AC:22:0B:9F:74:F2

Wii + Wiimotes also come up as classic scan rather than low energy in BlueScan, irc the ds3 uses low energy bluetooth instead?

Use the older version of the dancing pixel studios pairing tool.(I find that the new version doesn't work but the old one still works without issues) also use this driver instead of the one that gets installed http://dl.qj.net/playstation-3/tools-and-utilities/sixaxis-driver-for-pc.html the driver included with the DPS Pairing Tool is a non functioning version of this driver, this driver is also a pre-requisite to using SCP-DS-Driver

why not use the per-game setting aspect ratio : Force 4:3

Because it doesn't seem to have any affect, at least with that specific title. It still results in a stretched image being sent to the TV. The WiiU Widescreen setting is the only option that works, which I'm grateful for.

You could try forcing the a video mode and try various dol video patching methods with force 4:3, for example Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 Pal I have a copy that has the japanese soundtrack instead of the pal one with english voicing, in order for the game image resolution to fit my any NTSC TV it needs video mode: Region Patch , Dol Video Patch: All . if I don't have those settings it's stretched or a black screen

Do you need patch video dol: all in order 4:3 take effect?

So which tool do you suggest to get the MAC address?
The modded libogc needs to read the MAC from a dat file in NAND\Shared2\Sys folder

Do you need patch video dol: all in order 4:3 take effect?

normally no but like I said the only video mode settings that worked in my case was video mode: region patch and DOL Video Patch: All . Meaning it patched all video modes to region patched, you could try the same scenario do something like Video Mode: Force NTSC480P DOL Video Patch: All Aspect Ratio: Force 4:3 . It was stated that they screwed the resolution of the game when they stretched it to 16:9, So you may be able to find a good resolution by playing with different video mode combinations, RE games are dark anyways so if a tiny black border appears like in my case it would be playable, in my case With the image resolution being a tiny bit smaller then the tv screen it's better then not being able to see health bars and what level my Ki was at. now it's only about 96% of my screens true resolution with the settings that I used

Yeah, but it's a global setting right? So it would be like just selecting 4:3 on my TV every time I want to play the game.

Yeah. But my TV doesn't have a 4:3 setting when it detects a 1080p signal, so being able to force it is nice. Plus the setting doesn't seem to persist when restarting.

The renaming bug where custom titles would be forgotten if GameTDB does indeed seem to be fixed in this release! It must have been caused by the weird issues in the previous release.

Tx for the info.

GameTdb and game's titles stored in cache.bin are sometime not working.
I don't know why, I'll have to investigate.

Sometime, at launch I see the real game's title (stored in the ISO) instead of the Wiitdb game's titles as if it forgot to applied them or didn't load the xml file, but I can see game's info screen correctly so the xml file is correctly loaded, but titles are not renamed. Maybe a timing issue.
I will have to work on wiitdb anyway, I need to fix parental control for channels. (the channels are loaded before wiitdb so they are all saved with parental level 0). Nobody noticed or reported that issue, but I like having things working correctly.

I have my own list of bugs which are not posted on googlecode.

I think most if not all TVs are like that, Component and HDMI don't support 4:3 auto switching whilst RGB-Scart does, you should have a manual 4:3 and 16:9 picture size overide option on your tv for HDMI and Component though.
I agree it's a pita, I have same problem with my dvd / hdd recorder via HDMI, Wii64s force widescreen pillarboxing comes in handy.

Actually, it's kinda the opposite. HDMI (specially) completely support aspect ratio auto switching (just try it with your BD player, play a 4:3 movie/disc/clip/whatever and watch it auto change)
What he's trying to say (I presume) is that those inputs don't give him the option to MANUALLY change AR.

*EDIT* Just read what you said regarding your DVD player. Thats weird. Maybe that feature only works with BD players. Cause so far the three different brands/ models I have act the same way with regards to the aspect ratio.

It uses pin8 via RGB-Scart.

My TV definately doesn't have an option to switch between 4:3 and 16:9 over HDMI when using 720p/1080i/1080p. The option works fine for other connections, but the same option over HDMI merely lets me select various useless zoom modes. Maybe it is standard in the west, my TV is Japanese and lacks that option.

Regardless, having the option available in the loader is a massive help for people who cannot force an aspect ration on the TV itself. People using cheaper PC monitors might also be in a similar position.
