So keeping track up until now, he's promised $5,000 DOGE checks, $2,000 tariff checks, and $1,500 health care cut checks without paying out a single one of them.

If people are STILL dumb enough to believe he'd pay out $5,000 per adult in the US, they really are the easiest marks in the history of the world. It's a good thing for Americans that I'm too moral to be a grifter.
Don't forget those contractors and workers that supposedly haven't been paid for past work. That alone should have given people the impression that he won't pay a handful of people, much less an entire country.

That's if it's using HIS money. If it's government money, he'll line the pockets of terrible contractors until their accounts overflow.

Oh gawd, Terry Cruz already did this skit before!

Credit where credit is due, MTG called it out appropriately...

Who would have thought the person I used to think was batshit crazy has more of a grip on reality and integrity than Dementia Don?

Folks like MTG are only speaking out now because they got thrown under the bus. If they didn't, they'd still be doing all the shit that got us to this point in the first place. That's why I don't care about these people coming clean.

Just another rat that's fleeing the ship. There are a LOT of right-wring provocateurs that you would have NEVER thought would turn against Trump. Tucker Carlson, MTG, Boebert, Alex Jones, etc, are all reading the way the winds are blowing and doing what they can to try and say "I was the first to stand up to the insanity!!!". Then they swoop in and take the leftovers of the broken MAGA supporters.

But but BUT, to MTG's and Boebert's credit, the only reason they were kicked out of Trump's good books is because they truly drank the kool-aid and thought Trump would release the Trump-Epstein files. They're still crazy-ass, uneducated, loons, but at least they wanted some justice against pedophiles.

Nothing to see here! Just The president of the US's dumbass son getting his wedding paid for by Putin's oligarch friend. What was that about the Biden crime family? Biden paid gave his brother a loan and had it paid back, which was investigated for years? Hunter being, a Yale Law graduate, given a job?

Go fuck yourselves, MAGA chuds. Your whatabout-ism's are complete dogshit.

The majority of Americans voted for Trump, so the question now is:
what happened to the other half?
Presumably, that minority was smart enough not to vote for Trump.

In short, one could say there are more unintelligent Americans than intelligent ones.
Am I right in my calculation, or have I overlooked something?

It could also be that his voters are corrupt too, and that's why they voted for Trump... Somehow, it just gets more and more complicated the deeper you dig...

I wouldn't say the majority voted for Trump, but that a lot of people didn't vote at all, many on the basis of believing that both candidates are bad, and that they didn't want to get "involved" in a supposed bad choice. But they involved themselves nonetheless by essentially letting others make the vote for them. There was never going to be a situation where the winner was neither Harris nor Trump.

This isn't accurate. In 2016 and 2020, more tax payers voted for the Democrat. In 2024, more tax payers voted against Trump, as he didn't even secure 50% of the vote.

Can we say that the elections were conducted properly and were also correctly certified?
In that case, everything is fine.

But if 1/3 (plus a few idiots) vote for Trump and 1/3 don’t,
why is the remaining 1/3—who didn’t vote—ignored?

Wouldn’t it make more sense if all citizens who are eligible to vote were also required to vote, so that the final result isn’t skewed?

When I ask my family where we should go on vacation, everyone is included—no one is left out, that make sense for me.
Somehow, these elections don't strike me as logical or fair overall. Maybe I'm too stupid to understand them, but it seems like stupidity leads to more success in life—just look at Trump, who was elected after all.

I think the election system has significant flaws in its logic and undermines democracy, because real elections shouldn't really exist without the participation of all citizens.

The whole system stinks, but the elected officials love that smell...

If the election results are already rigged from the start because not everyone voted, then it’s also possible that only two citizens in the entire U.S. would vote and the rest wouldn’t.

If there are only two citizens who want to vote for the president and the rest don’t vote at all, then those two citizens would decide who gets elected and who doesn’t.
If one of those citizens is related to the president—or both are—then the whole election is unfair.
Something doesn’t add up here ;-)

For me, the little things are the hardest part to understand.
Chaos, on the other hand, is something you don't have to understand—otherwise, people will think you're stupid ;-)

The hurdles are that the will of the taxpayers are often not realized because both the electoral college and the Senate disproportionately favor conservative areas. Said areas that happen to be subsidized by blue states on a federal level. It's pretty frustrating.
