Thanks to all the devs for r927....

I tested it:
- on my WBFS HD: I loaded the games, no probs
- on my NTFS HD: I loaded the games
- on my FAT32 HD: no way to load the games, I got "error: bad magic"....

I have cIOS249 rev17 and cIOS222 rev4. Hope this could be useful to the devs...
The only difference with you and me was cIOS version.
I installed IOS249v17, it's now working fine with WBFS

I hope it will help the devs too.

R927 :
Exiting a game is Loading UNEO fine now, with normal boot and alt dol from disc.
Alt dol from SD/USB : return to Wii menu (tested with Red steel 1)

did you have to downgrade from rev19 to rev17 for WBFS loading to work?

Great job pune with the return to channel.. very very useful...

If possible any chance though you can patch the reset button in GX to do this rather the wii menu button.. (as it always nice to have the option to return to wii menu to do exactly just that)

as the reset button in GX is almost useless, so it kinda makes sense...

thoughts ?

if i patch the reset button, then people will start to bitch about that. then they will want to have different settings for each game. then they will figure out some way to misuse these options. then they will start creating multiple issues at the google code site for the same non-existant issue. then i will get really annoyed and call them stupid.

how is that going to be different than changing the wii menu button? I think the wii menu button is more widely used than the reset button, so in my opinion, if anything should be changed, it should be the reset button and not the wii menu button... but what whatever you decide I'm sure it will be for the best

ignore em.

have an option for either or neither via the GX settings.. (that should stop the bitchin)

Failing that add a disclaimer referring to noobs...

Besides my reason for the reset button to be patched, it just makes more sense, arguably you may run in to more problems having the wii menu button patched, like..

I CANT GET BACK TO THE SYSTEM MENU FROM MY GAME!!!! (noob type response...)

so for example...

Had enough of this game >> reset >> appear to reset the console >> reloads the loader >> load another game

Want to watch Eastenders *coughs* >> wii menu button >> does exactly what it says >> load iplayer from system menu

for most games the reset button already loads the system menu doesnt it? so it is just the reverse of your example.
In my experience there are only 2 things the reset button does (depending on the game)
1) restarts the wii (so depending on how you have priiloader configured, it could start anything really)
2) restarts the game (which is kind of pointless) - This is more common in newer games

I find the return to wii menu button useful (and it constantly loads the same thing -the wii menu-, unlike the reset button). But because of the reset button's lack of consistency, I find it useless (if it always restarted the wii, then I would actually use it, in conjunction with Crazy Intro)... but I think it would be great to have the wii menu button always go to the wii menu, and the reset button always return to a usb loader (this is my preferred set-up, but it sounds like whatever you do will be customizable anyways, so it doesn't really matter what set-up I prefer)

yeh you kinda summed up where i'm coming from with this...

as i say it just makes more sense to have this way round...

the fact it is more inconsistent with what it does is probably why it would be a safer bet to be patched than getting a noob type response with the 'I CANNOT GET BACK TO THE WII MENU' with the current set up.

well whenever those noobs figure out the functions to patch that button, they can submit the changes to us. its not like you just search the game for a string that says "this is the spot to patch to change what the reset button does" and change a 0 to a 1 and it magically works.

OK, I didn't get a response before but I found out the problem. It's my mate's HDD causing the freezing.

I thought the HDD compatibility was only regarding the WBFS format. I thought as long as it would be formatted and games loaded onto it (through WBFS Manager) then it should work? Guess I was wrong.

And I can't submit the brand/model to the compatibility list. It's an elcheapo no-name bought online. Which was also why I couldn't check the list in the first place.

Learn something new...

dont get me wrong m8.. seriously

I appreciate everything you do.. and the work you do is pretty spot on so far.. Not just on this usbloader, but other project you work on...

I figured if you could patch the wii menu you could probably suss out 'eventually' the reset button as well.

It ain't the be all and end all tbh.. Just mere suggestion to improve functionality of the loader itself...

As a matter of interest how did you come by this patch idea ?

there's bonus points for somebody that can update the readmii with whatever features are not covered in it. i think it was written about 300 revs ago and its time to get it up-to-date.

Can anyone tell me how I can get Punch Out (NTSC) on my European Wii with USB Loader GX please ?
Right now, all I get when trying to load it is a black screen.

Latest rev on via update function in GX won't load VIA Priiloader, just hangs on a black screen when I start my wii up, anyone else have this?
make sure u r running the latest priiloader release (v0.4), otherwise don't even bother reporting incompatibilities.

i changed some stuff and committed my stuff. in the current SVN version, it should be able to exit any game and return to either HBC or our channel. it tries our channels first and then tries HBC.

Hey Pune..Great Job
yaywii.gif

So far my testing it has worked great.

I have only one question, will this be able to be disabled via settings or via an argument that is passed onload? THe reason I ask is I have a few Channels I made with CRAP and I would like some of those to exit back to System Menu. When I ended one of my current Channel forwarders it loaded back into USB GX. If this can be done, then perhaps we can get WiiCRazy to add it to the options of CRAP.

Thanks

If you are on an old PAL TV then try the patch video option, this works for most, it may however make the screen off centre.
