A bit of a problem with SSBB in USB Loader GX. I can see Brawl on my Game List just fine, but the instant I click on it, nothing happens. The music in GX keeps playing, and I can highlight buttons, but if I press them nothing happens. I can't go back to the Wii Menu, and I can't go into Settings, so I have to hard reset.

Any suggestions? Bad dump or otherwise? All settings are default.

are you using wii backup manager to transfer the iso?

Yes.

In that case you need to go to settings and set the 'wii partition to keep' to 'game partition only' and transfer the iso again.
Thanks. But will this screw up my other partition? I have a main partition I use for other things, then a WBFS partition for USB Loader GX.

That partition refers to the partitions in the game iso, not the partitions in your hdd.

did everything. newest hermes cios, newest wanin cios, but still black screen. mpt worked with wbfs formated drive, but not with ntfs formated -.-
Hm, in that case, I'm wondering if that might be related to it being a double layered DVD. Is the file on your HDD splitted into multiple splits, or is it just one big file?

I have an old PAL TV and all Videopatch methods didn't worked for NMH2 on my TV, always a black/white screen. But with Wanins video patcher and alt dol loading it worked. Any idea, why and could this patching be included into USBL GX aswell, please?

sounds to me more like a region setting. have you tried changing the region in USB loader GX?

Question When I install a game using USB Loader GX does it automatically strip other partitions except the game partition ?

Reason I am asking is I have been backing up games by installing them using the USB Loader GX to my USB Harddrive and then taking the USB Harddrive to my computer and pulling the files from drive to my computer using either WBFS manager or Wii Backup Manager. I noticed that the ISO's after moving them from the USB Drive to my computer and opening them with either WiiScrubber or Wii Backup Manager Seem to be lacking any update partition or other thing that may of came with the original Disc.

In the settings for GX there is an option to keep only game partition or keep full disc when ripping the games from the wii to your hard drive.
I think by default its set to keep game partition only.

I was wondering is there currently any way to block IOS reloads in GX? Or is this still a problem for games like Metroid Trilogy?

More Questions. I am trying to do a full backup of Wii Fit Plus and the size after setting Game Loader options to Install ALL partitions and do a 1:1 install is showing as 6.34GB in WBFS manager when I choose to extract the iso it is 8.75GB. Is WiiFit Plus a Dual Layer Disc or am I doing something else wrong.

As another test I am currently trying to backup the WiiFitPlus disk with Waninkoko's WIFI backup as a DVD5 ... will see in 3 hours

Wii Fit Plus should only be about 1.2GB and is definitely NOT dual layer.

Well, GX can block ios reloads, but the cIOS can't. Therefor, it's still a problem for games like MPT.

Yeah, that was the first thing I tried, of course.
But really ALL settings didn't fixed the region problem (the black and white), wanins patcher fixed it immediatly.

Ok I set the Install Partitions option to "All Partitions" and the Install 1:1 Copy to No and got a much better result. the standard single layer size. with Update, Install and Data partition. I assume the install partition is the wiifit channel.

It almost seems to me that by setting the Install 1:1 Copy to Yes results in a 1:1 copy ( full dvd size) + what ever is set in the Install Partitions setting which only has 2 settings , Game Only and All Partitions. If this is true shouldn't the Install partitions Options be ignored/overridden by the install 1:1 copy when set to YES ?

Maybe im confused on these settings and someone can better explain these 2 settings?

Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure if anyone's brought this up, but there seems to be an incompatibility between USB Loader GX and the DriveKey. If a copied Wii disc is inserted, USB Loader GX says 'Not a Wii disc'. I tried with a D2Sun modified Wii and it had no problems reading the copied disc and installing it. The DriveKey'd Wii reads the real games just fine though.

Any ways around this?

I've posted here before but I seem to can't put my finger on what's making my HDD freeze.
It's in the compatible list, there's no programs for it to go into spin-down.
It's just randomly in some games they'll just completely stop working.

Fatal Frame 4, she can never open a door (it's literally stuck loading, the dot doesn't even flash)
Muramasa, can't even start a new file.

et cetera

Any help at all or remedy?
IOS222/223 installed, CIOS249v17 installed

i have same issue sometimes , i just switch my hdd off and on again and the game continues ... cheers

I have also had this issue, however once the game goes faulty (freezes) it usually continues to do this at the same point.

I have found that if I add and remove games to the drive, others freeze. If this is your problem:- Backup your drive, reformat and add everything back on.

I now only add games to a spare hard drive, then add them to the main drive when they work (and I like them).

I know this has been asked before. But now that triiforce has got so good with the emulated nands I was hopping that the tittle channel loader could run channels from a emulated nand form the usb hard drive. That could be changed from the settings page between regular nands and emulated nands. That way I can run all the channels I want without any possibility of messing up the wii system menu. If this is not possible please let me know thanks.

If you read a little back, it's already been suggested and shot down - MAYBE once USB Loader GX is totally stable and there are no improvements in the near or distant future, it will happen, but unless that happens, I suggest you find someone who can code for Wii (or learn to do so yourself) and start writing the proper code needed to begin reading the virtual NAND, then work from there.

if somebody wants to add it, it isnt really that hard. the reason i havent added it myself is just because all the stupid idiot checks that will need to go along with it. it doesnt matter how we tell people that they will need to use the proper IOS and how we put it into the readmii, they still will not listen. it would be only a few lines of code to put this in, but it will require 10x as many lines of code to put in idiot checks. and somehow people will still find a way to fuck it up and make 50 issues about it that i dont feel like deleting. its easier to just say no and let people use the homebrew loader to start triiforce.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
