I remember reading some times ago there was an unofficial version with GamePad support, can someone link it? I'd like to use USB Loader GX as a loader for Nintendont games on SD card.

EDIT: Found it!
https://www.mediafire.com/file/232780esy10r6po/USBLoaderGX+r1269_mod03.7z

it has support for WiiU gamepad from a WiiVC forwarder channel. if you enable wiimote passthrough you can use the wiimote in the loader interface but gamepad will be disabled on NAND channels.
I edited the boot sequence to use AHB access rightaway instead of reloading to (c)IOS, unless requesting another IOS in meta.xml. I might change that again.
I removed patches applied to IOS58.

Hello, I have a 3tb hdd I want to format to fat 32 but for some reason I can only format the whole drive if I split it into two partitions. Can I use usbloader gx and split the hdd to 2tb (for Wii games) and the rest for GameCube? What’s the best set up for this? Should I make the first smaller partition for GameCube games? So I know that usbloader gx supports up to 8 partitions. So I was just looking for confirmation that I was doing this correctly and if I had to do anything else? Any help is always greatly appreciated!

I used wii backup manager 32bit on my laptop but my HDD was dying so I bought a new one and installed Windows Ultimate now it says 64bit.

Should a use WBM 64bit or still 32bit ? My laptop is old and at its core its still 32bit right ? I'm confused..

Also is there a way to check if my backups are damaged in any way .. i just simply transfered everything i had on my dying HDD to a new one and now im afraid if i'll get into trouble because of all the changes made.

what does this have anything to do with this thread?? It is all about Windows and WBM

Anyway
1. if your CPU is 32 bit, Windows 64 wouldn't even install.
2. WBM 64bit would be better but 32bit should still work
3. Use WBM to verify the SHA-1 hash of the games

USB3.0 are compatible, you just need to use IOS58 as default IOS for all your homebrew.

Hey Cyan, first I just wanted to thank you for all the help and info you've provided over the years. I spent last weekend finally Letterbombing my OG Wii (on frimware 4.3U) that was sitting in a drawer for years collecting dust. Everything worked and I went with the latest version of USB Loader GX and Nintendont. I used google many a times to find instructions and tips on issues other users presented, mostly with an answer from you on how to fix it.

So my issue, and I'm hoping you can respond to as I haven't a solid answers on this, is that I was using a 2.5" 60GB HDD (FAT32 with 32k cluster) that loaded games, installed both Wii and GC games using the Loader GX installer, and also had no issues using GC memory card (individual) emulation. I wanted to increase size and also limit my foot print so I purchased a 128GB SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.0 (formatted using EaseUS to FAT32 and 32k cluster) and have had issues since. The games loaded fine, but the installation to the USB didn't work anymore, loader would just freeze. Also GC memory card emulation would also cause Nintendont to freeze or crash. I fixed this by turning of emulation and using a physical GC memory card but would like to continue using emulation. I even tried copying the saves that were created on the HDD to the saves folder on the USB and the game would load the save but freeze when I actively tried to save.

I see you're suggesting changing the IOS to 58 in the Loader settings. Will this solve my issues when using the USB Drive (Currently setup under ISO249)? I have also tried looking up on the drive compatibility chart but the drive isn't listed. There is only one other SanDisk drive and it's listed as "Has Issues".

Thanks in advance!

Your 128GB drive, is a HDD or Flash drive?

flash are not working with Wii and WiiU in write mode, and always freeze when you try to dump a game, or create/save a memory card, etc.
you can even corrupt your partition and lose data.

always use a real HDD.

Thanks and that pretty much answers all of my questions. The 128GB was a flash drive and the problem.

What you just wrote is what happened to me exactly. The drive stopped working several times and when put into a computer, the partition was gone each time. I hard wiped and partitioned the drive 3 times over the weekend, not knowing why it was happening, with the last time fully corrupting the drive making it unable to be read by the computer or partition manager.

I'll get an upgraded size 2.5" and just continue that way. Thanks again.

Hi I have been reading thru these and other posts . My situationis this , My wii wi and Usbloaderwas working fine for years, however lately I added wiifit, wiifit plus and resident evil. Wii was working fine for about two weeks, then wii sports would hang at the press a and b screen . Freed up some space, Deleted it and re added it. No change.
Tried a few other things, eventually would not goto menu and my priiloader gotreset.
Found another Wii, wii sports was hanging at put on and tighten wrist strap.
So:
- I used Modmii 6.48 to update , tried , USbloader, wiiflow, cfg
- updated DX2cios
- tried different versions of USBloader
- tried pimp my wii 3.1
- upgraded homebrew

Everthing i've tried works fine from disc channel or Neogamma including backup disks except the loaders some games freeze or get the error 1 Unauthorized device.

Dont know what else totry
could not find my syscheck but here is the pimp my wiireport

pimpMyWii report is not complete.

what's interesting is what's inside your slot 249/250.
it says "v10", but doesn't tell which revision.
there's a v10 r52 (good) and a v10 r53 (bad).

If you thought installing the latest was better, then it could be why you have a problem.
Just be sure you are using r52 and not r53.
If you want syscheck, look in my signature.

as for your initial problem, I don't really know why it worked fine until now.
game freezing/crashing while playing could be related to cIOS (wrong version).

Your priiloader got reset if you reinstalled a system menu (for example, following modmii guide not until the end).

Also, all your IOS are patched (which is wrong). Probably a result of using PimpMyWii.
PimpMyWii is bad and should never be used by people who just press buttons without understanding the reason.
PimpMyWii changes things which shouldn't be changed and their author feel like patches and latest are always better than original, proper and well setup console.
here, on this forum, everybody will tell you PimpMyWii is only good to brick consoles :/

You should really follow modmii guide to re-hack and get all proper IOSes.

as for your installed channels :
ULNR is old, and doesn't even use IOS58 (it uses IOS35) which is even older. I recommend you delete that channel. only use the updated UNEO forwarder to launch USBLoaderGX, or you can have issues in games.

Thanks, i appreciate thequick response) but even after using modmii initially things still did not work. in desperation as pthers have told me Pimp my wii worked I tried it. I do have syscheck but but could not find the output files on the sd. Perhaps will try reloading my nand and using Modmii again maybe try modmii again first.

Just FYI it is highly suggested to not use anything but a harddrive. Thumb drives and other storage devices are notorious for causing issues. I would bet that the thumbdrive is the problem. The only thing I’ve found pimp my Wii useful for was installing wads as it recognizes the Wiimote with motion plus built in. That’s all.

Yeah, I've given up on the USB thumb drive and sent it back to Amazon for a refund at this point. I found in my office a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 500GB drive, which was on the compatibility chart here as functional as long as I turned off the Sleep State so I'm going to format this thing now and try it out tonight.

Your setup is now looking fine :)

we can now focus on fixing your problem, knowing it's not a system issue.
note that modmii installed dx2 v 8 and in some other posts says to use dx10 .
v8 final is the best.
v10 revision 52 is exactly the same as v8, so you don't need it.
v10 revision 53 is beta, lot of bugs. don't update.

Now that you have v8 base57 in slot250, you need to tell the loader to use slot250 instead of 249.
base57 has better compatibility than base56.

Which games still have issues?
please detail black screen or freeze, when, region, video mode, individual settings, etc.

Your setup is now looking fine :)

we can now focus on fixing your problem, knowing it's not a system issue.

Some freese at loading some freeze at tighten strap, some freeze after selecting. some exit to homebrew menu.
All are NTSC
Only played with individual settings of wii sports. Ios and game setting from 249 to 250 force video to NTSC
but have put back to test . Also no longer get a spinning disk when select a title.
Are there any specific settings you want me to get?
Here are game results ( i'llalso try attaching a doc with some pics )

Almost every time freezes or hangs have to unplug and start again from homebrew as USB loader forwarder isnt working

Also I no longer get a spinning disk when a title is selected.

freezes are random? not always the same game, and at the same spot?
Are you, maybe, using a flash drive instead of an external HDD ?
Flash drive always freeze and crash. please, use a HDD.

You have too many issues to be game specific, I think your problem is the drive.
Do you have another flash drive to test ? (if you don't have HDD)

As for your forwarder, you have 2 different channels installed. Maybe you are using the wrong one.
I'd recommend you uninstall both, and reinstall latest forwarder (v5.1) by following this guide : https://gbatemp.net/posts/6478222

err #001 Unauthorized device ? that's a very old error. I never seen it since pre-2010.
I don't even remember what that error was. Maybe something related to wrong titleID?

Could you verify your games are good ? WiiBackupManager > select games > option > Sha1
if you hare red games, they are bad. If green they are good.

are you using FAT32 or WBFS partition?
WBFS can corrupt games if you use the wrong manager.

if you want spinning disc when selecting a game : Settings > gui settings > game windows : rotating disc, or "banner on channels only" to get rotating disc on non-banner view.

Thanks figurd out the spinningdisk thing.

FYI As I suspected WII FIT PLUS is probably what caused all the problems. It is also the only one left that shows red in WiiBackupManager.
Also as I took another hard drive that had a empty WBFS partionand added a couple of games using the USBloader "+" button add a game, tested worked okay , added a couple more games, tested okay , added Wii fit plus disk. This where everything started acting up again, freezes and black screens after adding Wii fit Plus, so their might be something bad on it.

SOLUTION THAT WORKS: Using cean WBFS partion, added ames but NOT WII FIT PLus

Removed all the games , added a few more in, and tested. Everything works fine , even got the forwarder to work.
Not sure I want to try WiifitPlus again.
Am going to leave it for a few days then add more titles back in and at some point perhaps delete it from the original hard drive and test ( may have to remove al ltitles first) Will have to see if can restore some Miis and perhaps some save games from my fat32 partition, but not sure if I want to do that)

I've l have also moved the channels around to where I want them on the Wii menu.
