I got this problem since a really long time: When i start USB Loader GX, everything is normal, but then, when "Initialize USB Device" is displayed, it takes 3-5 seconds until the HDD starts spinning (you can hear that). But now, it can take up to 2 Minutes until "Initialize USB Device" changes to "Loading conf files", and the Loader finally starts and displays the games.

I can go around this, by waiting to switching the HDD on until the loader says "Waiting for your USB Device". If i do that, it all starts immediately.

I got a second Wii-Console here, and on this one, this problem dosen't exists. So it can't be the HDD, right? The HDD was WBFS, and is now FAT32. But this problem occurs on the first Console with both formats.

Any ideas?

Or you could switch from Crap Loader GX to the standard Configurable USB Loader (with integrated DM[L]/Devolution support!)

USBLoader not only looks and works a shitload better, but its Dios Mios support kicks Devolutions AP using ass. Oh and its much more compatible with games.

Oh, and @OP

Are you using a CISO? Mine gave me huge problems when I was using the vanilla but I installed a CISo (it was like DYX 27 or something)

Was the issue solved?

Why would anyone in his right mind switch to a loader with less than 50% of the functionality that his current one has over such a fixable issue?

Please stop trolling and writing off-topic posts telling GX users to switch to crappy CFG when they ask for help with a minimal issue. This is at least the second time you do this.

Thanks for all your help. I installed the latest Forwarder Channel (5.1) but this didn't fix the problem. I also updated the USB Loader GX to the latest revision.

But i didn't expected that this would fix the issue. The old forwarder channel was also forwarding correctly. The problem occurs during the loading process of the USB Loader GX. I really think it is a IOS/CIOS issue. But which?!??!?

It's the step between "Initialize USB Device" .. to... "Loading config files" that takes forever. Sometimes 10 seconds... sometimes more than 3 minutes.

Could that have someting to do with my other problem... (please read the last post): http://gbatemp.net/topic/333525-usb-loader-gx-gamecube-games-black-screen-why/

Where are you storing your GX file, on the HDD or on an SD card, if on the HDD put it on an SD card (this speeds things up and stops issues with slow boot HDD's)
What CIOS are you running GX on (249 - base 56 is generally best)
If you have 2 Wii's, try swapping over the SD cards (if you have 2) does the problem follow the SD card

GX's is and was always located on a 2GB Toshiba SD Card

Where can i see and/or change that?

I'll give it a try tomorrow, thanks!

You should avoid using SD cards and put all your /apps files on a fat32 partition on your USB. And it wouldn't hurt to try to reinstall IOS58. If you insist on using SD cards, i would backup any important files, deleting the junk ones, formatting the SD card, then putting back your important files. Sometimes weird corruptions can cause odd things like this on the wii

I've now formatted the SD card (with SD-Formatter) and only placed USB Loader GX on it... nope. Both problems still exist.

Is it difficulte to create such a partion? Wich tools should i use?

And it wouldn't hurt to try to reinstall IOS58

Should i first remove it, then install it again OR can i install just over it? And should i use some installer-tool or just the WAD Manager? Thanks a lot!

I WISH I had the same problem as you... I have a similar problem, but instead of the delay my Wii just completely freezes. If I put USB in while it's waiting the 20 seconds it also freezes.. Any suggestions? I have 4.1u not-so-recently downgraded from 4.3. USBLoaderGX 3.0
Oh and I can run the program perfectly fine without any USB in, and I know it's not the USB because I can use Neo Gamma just fine to launch games, it's just I can't launch certain games with certain IOS's.

It's been a while, but for the sake of posterity: I transitioned from one USB device to a new (higher capacity) one. It froze if the device was plugged in on launch, or if it was plugged in during the 20 second window. To fix this, I deleted the GX loader directory (the app) off my SD card, and re-copied a fresh GX loader directory. Perhaps cache files (etc) were at fault - but it worked perfectly with the fresh install of GX loader.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
