hi all, hope you can help.

I am a bit of a noob to the whole wii scene. I have succeassfully modded my wii from xzxero's post and have been running backup discs for the last few weeks.

I got fed up with the speeds of the discs and so decided to buy myself a hard disk, and run a usb loader. so done just that. i am running The latest version of usb loader gx that i have downloaded from their website, formatted my drive to wbfs (as my brand of disk would not format with usb loader gx) and i have backed up a number of games - all of which work great.

I am however having problems trying to download covers with the app, it takes about 1hr+ for it to attempt to download the covers, and they just tend to fail with an error like 'images not found on server'

Am i right in thinking that this used to work, and then wiitb changed the structure of their site, and now it fails to work?

How can i add cover art manually and where is there data stored? is there any file/folder structure to contend with? any xml files etc??

A screenshot of where the data is, and how its structured, or a brief guide would be very helpfull.

Try with another loader or a different revision of USB Loader GX to see if you have the same issue.
If you still can't get it to work from your Wii you could try a software like Wii Backup Manager (Windows) or Wiithon (Linux) to download your covers from WiiTDB

Here's the USB Loader GX guide : http://usbloadergx.koureio.net/help/readmii
Latest version here: http://code.google.com/p/usbloader-gui/downloads/list

Make sure you have a SD:\images folder
If you go to the options in USB Loader GX and "Update All" it will download the xml file for you.
Also, make sure to choose "Original/Custom" in the settings if you want the loader to download all the discs images it can find.

Christopho don't be a complete fag.

wbfs manager 3.0+ makes the folder when it rec's what games you've ripped to your hard drive. The folder is usually in your my documents, labeled WBFS Manager Covers. You copy all those into the folder that your usbloader gx shows in your .cfg, check your settings if you can't find the .cfg on your SD card. The GUI inside the usbloader gx under settings will show you what folder you have for your covers.

All this goes on your SD card.

Don't try to download them, usually the newer usb loader gx downloads the files from a different server.

Lolz I don't see how I was a fag >.< If you click the link and scroll down there's a guide on how to get covers for the boxart and the disc on the SD card and you don't require wi-fi for it (i.e. "adding the cover manually") o.o

anyone here know how to use METEO?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    It's very simple.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Meteo is like an AVI-to-GBA converter. Just drag-and-drop your AVI file in, and then convert.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, like those gba carts that have movies and tv episodes in them?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
But Nintendo's GBA video format is different, being that it uses a custom ROM and chipset for rendering, for like the Shrek and Shark Tale titles. Been undumpable for years and years.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Meteo uses it's own player.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, those roms are dumped currently, right?

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Although it's kinda pointless to download them anyway since you get the movies in horrible quality
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Yep, they are now, but it took a shit ton of RE'ing.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    RE = reverse engineering
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, can you remind me what reverse engineering meant pls?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Reverse engineering, to put it simply, is to understand how the software or hardware was made.

Lol someone tried using my email to log into Nintendo
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, is that through trial and error sometimes?
