I am a liitle confused. Do i need the cios usb 2.0, and cios36_rev9? or just new cios249 rev9?

You do not need the cios_usb2. All you need is cios rev 9. usb2 was implemented into rev 9, see the changelog.

Also Right in the readme of the loader it says:

[ REQUISITES ]:

- Custom IOS36 rev 09 or above.
- USB device with one free partition for games.

nothing else.

please people. read the dam readme

Just to ask, do i have to format my whole external HDD in order to use this loader? As i have a load of stuff on it and i wish to know, if i can add a new partition to it which i can use with the loader.

Just so everyone knows. If it looks like you have alot less memory then you have, its okay. Waninkoko said its the wrong unit type being displayed. Not a bug or problem. Just took me a minute to dump Animal Crossing. Okay a minut and two seconds.

I'm, already guessing no, but...

Will this work on a modded unit (wiikey) which unfortunately has 4.0 installed with no previous cios installed.

YOu don't have to format your entire drive. Just a single partition.

I installed the Custom IOS36 rev9 throug network and then started the USB Loader v1.0 but it says that couldn't start the USB subsystem e gives de error -1.

Any suggestion?

Silly question, but is your usb device attached to the Wii?
Yes i have.

@loash Yes, you can.

Do you have any other usb devices attached? I got that error when I had my USB hub connected (I have a hub connected to charge all of my Wii remotes through).

No I don't. But i think I figured out what's wrong, my Wii doesn't support my 20GB internal laptop hard drive with a support to USB because I tried with an external HDD and a pen drive and worked.

Shit, it was my only free hard drive even my old PS2 fat reconized it. :/

ok just to recap last 7 pages
its released and gba goes nutz
the loader will format your hd to the correct file system then use the dumper
so far as of this post there is NO WAY TO USE WINDOWS AND COPY OVER ISO .

Can anyone give a link for the linux program?

I'm assuming that with the program for linux you can copy the backuped games to the usb device using your pc. (as I understand that you can't use backup disks to install to the hdd using the loader program - unless you have a hardmod)

Someone should write a guide for us noobies to show us how to install this and a small FAQ post for this would be nice.

From the amount of repeat questions, I don't think many people read the readme, let alone this whole thread. Then again, I guess it is annoying to read through a fast growing thread like this when it is full of repeat questions because people haven't taken the time to read it. That in itself is a shame.

Anyway, I am about to hook up an old IDE drive with an USB enclosure and see how it works out. Not expecting any issues other than the seemingly known issues that other people have experienced.

Guide:

Step 1. Install cIOS rev9.
Step 2. Run USBloader from Homebrew channel or whatever.

Step 3. Feel like a moron for needing a guide for this.
