Hacking Upgrading HDD before CFW

Hi,
i'm about to recieve a slim model (21xx) with official 4.85. before i jailbreak it want to upgrade the HDD to 1TB.
The steps is simply swapping the hdd and installing official 4.85 (from sony's website) from a usb?

If it's a used drive, make sure you do a full error scan before putting it in.
