Mine went fine.

Ive got two friends wii's that I modded and made sure to test SPM before giving back.

However, i updated etc 2.2E and active internet connection. The update has been going for ages now - a good few minutes at least.

Getting a bit worried now...

Should i leave it or pull the plug?!

yeah ill keep it on, but its been nearly 10 mins now, and its gone midnight =/

its like stopped right at the end, with tiny gap to go.. real tiny.

did it have to be connected to the net? Before hand i made a new connection, it tested, tried to download new firmware and that was it. Does this select it as my connection? Im sure it does..

30 mins now..

Ok i switch off and it booted fine. I dont know if the updates done.

Sometimes, it keeps coming up "error please turn off console etc etc" and it didnt read my disc. I think this may have happened before SPM. Maybe something isnt right inside...hmm

tried different SPM disc and thats working, so must have updated. Just concerned about the error that comes up sometimes.

I sometimes get an error when booting, but when I then turn the wii off and on (with the mote) it works fine, its the way of the road.

yeah but to be honest I left it updating for 40 minutes before switching off. Worked fine though.

But its very picky on media. I burn a disc, it works on a couple of other Wii's but refuses on this one.. And then i burn one on the same media and it works everytime! But burn another and it doesnt.

weird.

Gambia, The
switch off the wii while updating doesnt cause trouble at all. as long as the
blue progressbar isnt at 100%, wii isnt done with downloading. so, there
will be only some temporary data written to the flash memory (or maybe
to RAM). but as long as it is not finished downloading, there will be no
"update progress" to the old firmware!

so, whenever your wii hangs at the progressbar for a longer time, reset it.
its mostly a connection problem, and one try later it works fine (often ;p).

just want to mention this, because many ppl think that their wii may bricks
when switching it off at the progressbar (below 100%).

the SPM update is a special case! it updates (or prevent updating) from the
game disk itself. so, here it could work a little different.

phew... i just realized that my english REALLY sucks....

Ive had two Wiis stop at just under 100%. Im not sure why it does it, but it must update because when I try Super Paper Mario it works fine. Its just weird as I never have really heard anyone else with this problem.
