Hardware updating to 1.9g question

Ok.. so.. Are there really 2 1.3 config cd's?
how do hell do i update from 1.9b to 1.9g on a pal system.
Just download the update from the downloads section, burn my region iso .. put it in and press UPDATE?
what is that "hacked 1.3" cd?

you don't need config disc for update. just burn the update and run it. If it doesn't run you can always try to boot it with gcos or something.

I'm not sure what is that hacked 1.3 cd. probably something to do with gc heade rthing. The latest wii firmware didn't launch config discs for some reason so that's why there's "hacked one". but i assume that non hacked one can also be booted via gcos.

ok... ive never used a GC game and/or related stuff so GCOS means nothing to me.
bottom line.. could i update it safely without doing anything wrong?
