Hacking Updating on CFW

I'm on 11.3 (Luma 8.0 and boot9strap) and want to update to 11.5, it's not like i'm going to loose any functionality and i'm sick of the stupid update notification every time i boot up the console. So just let me know what stuff i need to do after updating (changing settings, updating payloads, etc..) because it would be a HUGE help!

You should,as far as I know just be able to update, all the bugs have been fixed. The only settings you would need to change would be the ones about spotpass and the friends list to prevent banning (if you haven't done so already).

Edit: Update Luma, 8.1 is available now! (Not necessary but you should do it anyway)

I'm in the same situation...noticing there is an upgrade from A9LH to B9S...is it necessary? When you say update is it just running the 11.5 update and then updating luma or does everything need to be updated (payloads etc). Got through the CFW installs but have yet to upgrade so kind of a noob in that area.

You're safe to install the update, but update to luma 8.1 first.

Also, if you just aren't comfortable updating, you can always open FBI and delete pending titles to get rid of the nag

"yes" will install the boot.firm on the CTRNAND, so that you're running 8.1, even if you take the SD card out.

Well you might want to power the system down, then take the SD card out, then power on again and tick enable nand or user strings as well. I dunno why this isn't enabled by default?

that nintendo firmware update can't touch luma settings, I don't think. The luma update will though

If you're on a later firmware (11.4, 11.3, 11.2, etc) and you don't have b9s and luma 8, then you will need to use CTR-HTTPWN (also, if you have any dlc installed from CiAngel or Freeshop, then don't go onto the eShop, because it will delete your dlc because it isn't legit)

Sorry but that's incorrect, I've always updated to the latest system version and always updated Luma and eShop never deleted the DLC I have which was downloaded using Freeshop.
I don't know why users are using CTR-HTTPWN to enter eShop and play online when you can just update to the latest system version hassle free and enjoy every single thing.
