Hacking Question updating games using each update

but im looking at updates for warriors orochi and rpg maker mv and the updates are different sizes
mv update 1 1.28gb
mv update 2 376.66 mb
mv update 3 1.85gb
mv update 4 287.31 mb

are these content updates or something?

I tried only update 4 and it didnt work I had to install all 4 for the game to load

I could be wrong about this. But u only need the latest update and your good. Someone correct me if i'm wrong. But I was wondering this as well and it seems like from what I noticed u can jump straight to the latest without using the others. Even if they are bigger/smaller...Doesn't matter. Might be other situations that may vary.

Ok I installed update 4 and the game still said it need to update to play.
I went ahead and installed all four and the game loads fine now.
I'm guessing if the updates are progressively bigger then it's the last one only but if there different sizes you need all of them
