Hacking Updating B9S problem

I've been out of the 3ds loop for a while and I need to update b9s on my new 3ds XL to use luma 8.1.1. however, when following the guide on 3ds.guide to update, when I hold START to open the payload chainloader, I just get godmode9. if I delete godmode9.firm from luma\payloads, I get godmode9 when I hold START. no matter what. and godmode9.firm didn't have "start_" at the beginning, just for reference. also, I'm using a 128gb sd card formatted to fat32 and it's mbr.
help?

nevermind I fixed it I feel like an idiot now I put the new luma in by accident
