Hacking Update out of region games (JPN) using USA 3ds in Luma 3DS?

Hello, I have a 2DS USA with Luma installed and I would like update a Japanese 3ds game that I have. When I am on the main menu, there is an option for me to update the software when I click on the game. How ever when I click on it, it requires me to update my system itself.

Is there a way to update my Japanese 3ds games on an outdated firmware as I want to stay on 10.3? Thanks.

Go to that iso site and find the update in .cia form and install the .cia. That's your only option. Also, why are you still on 10.3? It's safe to update.

I thought CIAngel could download out of region updates.

Well, both systems either need to be on 11.1 or you use ctr-httpwn through the Homebrew Launcher on the 10.3 system.

I thought CIAngel could download out of region updates.

freeShop can download updates if that title keys site has it uploaded.

What could I do with a9lh? I do have luma though.

install freeshop, installed games should appear in the game list with the option to install updates. if it doesn't then you have to use that iso site to get the update.

He's talking about out-of-region games, though. He can't with a9lh or Luma3DS. He either needs to go to that iso site or download freeShop.

Does arm9loaderhax allow cross region update? Didn't it just an exploit that allow CFW to be loaded?

It doesn't allow cross region updates, unless I'm mistaken.

Some games are JPN Only such as Love+, some games in JPN doesn't have English language such as Bravely Second... ETC.
And he doesn't want to buy a new console. Since CFW Only allow cross region play. He came to ask about updating.

well if its jap games i understand, if its europe game on the other hand it would better to backup your saves and get usa version or vise versa.

yea i know, just a bit of "more you know" but yea one thing you can try, im not sure but CIAngel for "some" games the update is separated, just hit the jap switch. for all other you might have to use a nus downloaded for pc
