Yes, just make sure you have updated Luma3DS to the latest version

EDIT: I would also make a NAND backup in case the update bricks the system, which has happen to someone

    How do I update Luma?
Also, if my system gets bricked, how do I recover with a NAND backup?

With Hourglass9. There is an option to recover from a backup.

Just update with Luma Updater. You should have that installed if you followed Plailect's guide

When we update luma the payload in the SD is updated but what about the payload on the CTR nand ? because we will need update that too, right?

I'd guess that the Updater will update the payload on the CTRNAND too. If not you can just copy and paste it onto the CTRNAND with GodMode9 or even with FBI.

I see, well I hope the updater do it but we could do it too like you said, if not then some people will hit a black screen if they boot without SD in the case the updater doesn't do it automatically and they have an old version installed. Thanks.

As far as I know it won't give a black screen by just having a older payload on CTRNAND and booting without a SD. It will just launch an older version of Luma. Also be careful editing with GodMode9 or anything on CTRNAND since you could mess up really bad.

Really !? I was reading about some people updating to 11.3 and getting black screen or no boot because they were using an old version of luma, I though it will be the same if your payload on the ctr nand is outdate too!

The older version of Luma may not be compatible with 11.3 and blackscreen. That's what happened to the user that thought he bricked. He was using an older version.

Yes (if you don't want to experience a black screen and panic).

The payload in the CTRNAND isn't updated automatically FYI. You can use FBI to copy the updated one on your SD to the CTRNAND

Launch Luma Updater (you should have it installed if you followed Plailect's guide) and wait for it to load
Once loaded, select the "Install latest hourly ([hourly version])" option.
Wait until it's done and it will ask to reboot.
    Next, open FBI
Select the SD option, and scroll down until you see "arm9loaderhax.bin" (make sure you don't select the backup which should have a ".bak" extension instead) and press A
    Next, select the "Copy" option.
Press B to return to the main menu, then select the CTR NAND option.
It will ask if you are sure about modifying files in the CTR NAND, just say yes to that.
Next, select the "<current directory>" option, and select "Paste" afterwards.
You should now have Luma3DS on your NAND. To test this, try turning your 3DS on without the SD card inside

EDIT: After booting your 3DS without the SD card in, you will be prompted to the Luma3DS configuration menu. This is normal if you updated Luma3DS on your CTR NAND, or if it's the first time you test it out. It should only ask you once.

I want to be up to date with everything as I haven't don't it in a while. But I know how to update luma I have the luma updater. I have a9lh installed using a guide from months ago and when I try to load my 3ds without sd card in ( by accident) I just get a blue light that quickly goes on the off till I put card back in. Do I have an old version of a9lh and I'm not sure how to update if I do. Also when updating to 11.3 do I just update through the system menu? Or have I gotta do it Another way?
