A game written for with the Wii U in mind (for almost 5 years) until the switch port started will have bad framerate. Had the game be made with the Switch in mind, it likely would have been 1080p 60fps. But it wasn't. Its a wii u game ported to the switch. You'll see the true power of the console when a game that is made for the console gets released.

It only 10 bucks more :/ I would understand if they were charging 50 bucks more but 10 fucking bucks? big deal

If you feel the games you bought are not worthwhile, then get rid of them

Didn't they work on the Switch version for 8 months? I'm not a software engineer, but it's not like they developed the game to run on a toaster and ported it to a blender. I'm sure it would have run better if it was developed with the Switch's hardware (and architecture) in mind. However, over double the framerate while pushing 44% more pixels? That's not realistic.

The true power of the Switch? Dude. It's weak as balls. It's not in the same ballpark performance wise as the PS4 or XO which had middling performance at best when they launched three and a half years ago. I don't care that it's portable either (inb4 since that seems to be the go to point to justify the lack of power). It doesn't fit in my pocket and playing anything other than Fast RMX with the Joy-Con makes me want to die. I wonder what percentage of the user base take their Switch farther than the toilet on a regular basis.

The build quality on the switch is actually plastic garbage quality, easily scratch-able don't defend crappy nintendo practices, you're telling me the build quality is good xD also do you feel comfortable leaving a hot ass switch tablet inside of a dock to get even more hotter xD this system has it's issues along with some features stripped from the wii-u which is actually a bad thing. My switch gets hot after like 5 minutes on the freakin home menu. That's an issue. Also i just bought mario kart 8 AGAIN and i can't even enjoy it i've had 5 disconnects and 1 total race played lol.... NICE

I liked the comment because fuck Nintendo as a company. I wouldn't say the Switch or any other Nintendo product I've seen is of poor build quality. I've always found the build quality of Nintendo products to be second to none in the console market. I can see how people could describe the Switch as cheap feeling and therefore of poor build quality though. However, I'd say the Switch feels cheap because of stupid fucking hardware design decisions not poor build quality. Same shit Nintendo has done from the N64 on. Poor build quality would be things like gaps, unfinished edges, poor quality components, sloppy workmanship, etc.

Don't get me wrong, the Switch stinks on ice. It's shittier than I could have ever imagined. I hate Nintendo but I have to give them credit when due. They end result may be a shitty console. However, if you ever have/want to take one of their consoles apart you'll appreciate the attention to detail and build quality that they put into their hardware.

when the f are they going to add some browser ?

i'd love to watch some anime on this thing.
i always use my nexus 6p to watch some berserk/op/dbzsuper/snk2.

and i'd love to watch them on the bigger screen that is the switch.

anyway, guys why did they not have browser included from the start ? i mean is it because of hax exploits ?

would a browser make it easier for a console to get hacked? sure the 3ds/vita has hax through the browsers.
but look at the ps4 for instance, it has been out for so frikkn long and had browser from the start in it (or did it not?)
i have had my ps4 for only about 1.5 year

If you don't mind using unlicensed streaming sites, those "kiss" sites and a few others work using the fiddler browse anywhere method I wrote a tutorial for.

I Don't use them as I want a legal way to watch (FUNimation, Crunchyroll, and Animelab) instead since i pay for those services. They do not work however as they implemented DRM in their HTML5 streams and the Switch does not support any DRM.

Rabble rabble..nintendo sucks..rabble rabble

I suspect you haven't reached your breaking point yet. Virtual Console purchases will not carry over to the Switch unless Nintendo makes a U turn on what Reggie Fils-Aime said in at least two interviews (I think one was with ProJared). He told a bald faced lie. He said that you would need to repurchase VC games because you have to use a different account for the Switch. On that now why?! Why the fuck do I have to create yet another account for the new console? Anyways, back to what body is Reggie said. What a brass pair. So obviously bullshit. Of course Nintendo knows what purchases you've made. What makes that lie even more outrageous is that you can view your past purchases from a tab on your Nintendo Account page (i think it's called 'recent activity').

You picked an odd post to reply to. That post was mostly in defense of Nintendo's build quality. Nintendo's games are great. It's just that lately you have to play them on shit. Nintendo would have done a lot better to stop trying to be so clever and just make a fucking box with x86 hardware in it. What's the use of having a dual purpose device if it's shit at both things it does?

In regards to the VC content, it is certainly annoying, but I suspect a big reason you could carry over games in the past was that Nintendo didn't have to do any work to make a Wii game play on the WiiU or a DSi game play on a 3DS. They are having to remake all content that will be running on the Switch, since it cannot natively run Wii or WiiU content. If they carried over our content, it would be at a loss for them, which is obviously not a good recipe for success.

Eh, maybe I meant to reply to the other post, you double posted.

I think that if Nintendo made a simple x86 Nintendo XBOX then they'd sink big time. Japan, Nintendo's key market don't want some big ass console, they don't want cutting edge technology they want compact form factor, portable gaming and something can be taken out socially and linked together to game.

3DS, DS, Vita, PSP all have been a massive success in Japan. They love handhelds.

Don't forget that Monster Hunter is massive in Japan and had no online for many iterations because the Japanese prefer to link directly with each other socially on portable devices.

Switch is perfect for it's target market, it offers portability as well as a tiny living room footprint for t.v gaming. The WiiU bombed in Japan simply because it tried to be a western console. If Nintendo did the same with Switch it would have simply been repeating it's failure.

AFAIK no, you can use it if you enter shortly after rebooting.
Sorry about that, I was in a rush for update my fw and forgot to read about the other page that has the rebooting trick. Im not going to be updating pass 2.3.0 and hope the trick still works and 1 day 2.3.0 could get hackable in the future.

Just a notification:
You don't need to update to have online access.
I was on 2.20 (until today. I updated on accident) and have been playing Mario kart online for a while since the 2.3 update was released.
