Yes there is a reason ---- do you think someone that hasn't used their 3DS in six months, who is wondering if their Gateway card or whatever will still work, is going to search for the "11.4 and Homebrew", "11.3 and Homebrew", "11.2 and Homebrew", "11.1 and Homebrew" threads until they find the thing they're looking for? Do you think they'll come to this thread, not find what they're looking for and read every single page of replies to see if their question has been answered already?

No.

They're going to come here, skim over the OP, not find what they want to know, and are going to ask. There's going to be loads of people who have missed an update or two or more in the same situation, and they're all going to ask. The thread is going to become 40 pages of which 30 are people asking the same question over and over and being answered the same way, instead of ten pages of actual worthwhile discussion.
In other words, homebrew&hacking are progressing so fast......Have time to learn new hacking techniques and enjoy new functions, pretty fair lol.

Did this update break DS flashcards? My friend seems to think DS mode has something to do with flashcards. Just want to confirm it.

It seems that R4i won't work on N3DS 11.4,but it's OK in O3DS,tested by many other users.
I will not update but this is from a friend
i think it works fine now with new 3ds

Someone else?

So I've read the entire topic, and I'm still not sure if I should update to 11.4.

I'm on Luma and a9lh, New 3DS XL.

I use VC GBA injects and I'm seeing some posts saying 11.4 broke VC injects, and other posts saying that as long as I update Luma to the latest hourly build before updating to 11.4 it should work.

Is there a definitive answer to whether or not updating will cause me to be unable to play GBA VC injects?

I don't NEED 11.4 now, 11.3 works perfectly fine.

But I always prefer running the latest working firmware version in case something new in the future requires it. I don't want to be stuck in a position where something requires 11.4, but the newest firmware is 11.5 which is unhackable or something. Then I'm stuck in limbo with no way to update to 11.4.

Why don't you just make a NAND backup and try 11.4 out to see if what you need works? If it doesn't, restore your NAND. You're not stuck on any firmware if you take the proper precautions.

DS Games / GBA VC problems fixed in the latest commit on Luma3DS for 11.4. Thats what I saw on reddit.
Also, I think you can use ctr-httpwn to block the update pop up when playing pokebank?

yeah but its annoying to use it every time i use pokebank i wish luma just had something like ctr-httpwn built in

But if you did not rely on other homebrew apps(which is mostly broken) than you can just go ahead and update to 11.4. Just do a NAND backup before head.

Well, if you do update, PLEASE let me know how it turns out. I'm also running on N3DS+Luma&a9lh. I like using Badge Arcade and Miiverse, but not if it costs me DS/DSi/GBA functionality.

I updated, tried DS(r4 flashcart) and got black screen lockup till I updated Luma to current nightly, now DS and GBA work fine.
