What do you mean? The PS4 supported BluRay Video out of the box and 3D BluRay support was added in firmware 1.75.

lmao really . omg shows how used our ps4 is i guess... a yr old nearly and the ps3 still is console of choice for my eldest. musta missed that upgrade.

We post updates about Nintendo firmwares, don't see a reason why we shouldn't post Sony updates and Microsoft updates as well, especially when they introduce a feature that's been requested since the system launched. MP3 support was a big deal for everyone, so it's good to see Sony delivering.

There's a good chunk (maybe an understatement) of PS3 games which allow to play custom soundtracks and those didn't have any problems whatsoever (no slowdowns or anything).

Of course it's nowhere near as big as Xbox 360 because the 360 allows to play music for any game whereas PS3 is for selected only.
