Gaming Unlocking Palm Centro

My friend wants to unlock a Palm Centro, has the Sprint service. Anyone know any free ways I can unlock said phone?

In case he doesn't know this, the only other carrier that uses CDMA in the US is Verizon,
so he has to go with verizon if he doesn't want sprint. BUT verizon doesn't allow any non-verizon phones on they're network.
He either has to stay with sprint or get another phone with another carrier.
