I don't know if anyone remembers but...

I bought a used DS Lite, the mic worked at first but broke later on for some reason (just stopped detecting sound at all). At first I had no clue why... Untill now.

To replace this used one, I bought a brand new one...

This ones mic just stopped working today... Then I realized I had used the same headset on both. It was bought on clearance from target. They do not sell them anymore(we bought the last one). The brand was skull candy. This really the only reasonable common factor I can think of that cause this.

The only other common factors are:

I used an acekard.

What could have caused this? Could it have been the headset?

Yea, happened to me too - my DSL mic stopped working after using headphones.
Now I'm scared to use headphones on my DSi haha.
Well, if you have a headset, then I guess it wouldn't be a problem for you, there aren't many games that use the mic, so each time you do need it, just connect the headset for a couple minuets.

I replaced the DS Lite, but I want to avoid this one from breaking. The only headphones I used were the ones on the headset...

They look like earbuds with a mic on them.
