Gaming Twilight++ brightness control on a DSi XL

When I push the icon of brightness control (bottom-left corner on DS style menu), the console shuts down.
Is there a way to change it?

The DSi has the built-in function to change brightness anywhere, just hold Select and use the volume buttons.
