is a normal enter the emunand and not have DEVmenu ?

I literally have no idea what you said. Here's the trick - you need to install FBI and probably BBM in sysnand before unlinking sys and emunand. After that, there shouldn't be any issues installing CIAs.

Edit: try not to double post so much, mate. Editing posts works just as well.

Do you still have Devmenu in Sysnand? If so then reformat emunand > Boot Reinand to make sure you have Devmenu > Then you can unlink the Nands by formatting the Sysnand with mSD removed.

If you don't have Devmenu in Sysnand still then: Install Devmenu to Sysnand with CN > Ninjhax > Pasta > CN > Ninjhax > FBI (Install Devmenu).. Once you've done that, then do the above. ^^^

Edit: I'd suggest getting BigBlueMenu and installing that to Emunand after you're all setup. If you update your firmware to 9.5.0-23, then use BigBlueMenu

I'm slightly confused. It says it's for N3DS, but not in this thread title. Am I at the risk of screwing up my O3DS if I follow these steps?

Reinand is for N3DS.
Installing 4.5 Mset is also only for N3DS.

You could downgrade your O3DS to 4.5 if you wanted the profile exploit.
Cfw you want to look at is RxTools.

Edit: Double posted! D=

To update your file to the latest release all I need to do is extract the 2.1 stuff from reinand pastebin to the correct folders and overwrite what's already there? Basically paste it into the folder "Root of mSD - USA"

You can either drag and drop the new files onto your mSD overwriting, or you could delete all of the files that has to do with Reinand (old version), then drop the new stuff onto you mSD.

First option is easiest, second is best. :P

I went for the easiest and probably the safest for me. I can get confused...
I need to create the emunand on my sdcard but I don't want to lose everything after.
If I simply copy the contents onto my computer and put them back on after the emunand is created will I be saving my installed stuff?

So if you don't have an Emunand setup at all, when you create one, it'll have everything the Sysnand has.
If you decide to unlink by formatting the Sysnand with the mSD removed, you'll lose everything on the Sysnand, but it'll persist on the Emunand.

If you already have an Emunand setup and want to create a new one, backing up and dropping the contents of old Emunand onto the new won't work.

OK thanks, I currently have no emunand setup on this sdcard, but I wanted to keep my current installed apps to sysnand and or both new emunand & sysnand.

You'll want to leave them linked then.
You'll have to deal with unwrapping installed cias every time you boot to emunand though. :P

I don't think so unless you wanted sysnand sig patched or wanted to run gba games.
- eshop spoof (it's only a pro on n3ds)
- dsiware games support
- gba games support
- the best part it's free

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Noob here! Is there any benefit to using this CFW vs just using my Gateway card?

Thanks!

Actually, that may be good for me! I need to move my data from my old 3ds to my new 3ds on 9.2.

I thought I'd have to wait until the Gateway emunand works until the newest firmware, but if this cfw can spoof the eshop, would I be able to do the system transfer?

I really don't know.

I think the only way to system transfer would be if your old 3ds was using emunand & you were to downgrade that emunand to 9.5 then do the xfer with your n3ds on 9.5 emunand as well. *I don't know if that actually works, pretty sure i've seen someone do it or talk about it though. >_>*

It's not apart of the guide, i'll probably add it some time this week (Have semi crappy internet & low data cap).

All you need to do is download 9.5.0-23(your region) and drop it onto your mSD from 'that 3ds site with isos' (google it >_>) Install BigBlueMenu.cia (Google it) then install the firmware with BigBlueMenu. **Be 110% sure you're in emunand when you do this**
